I recently worked in a house with an over the top basement. All-glass wine cellar. Shooting range. Golf simulator. Full gym. Guest suite. Putting green. Trophy/Cigar room. Full bar. Movie theater. Safe room. Spa room. Total house was about $15 million to build. Probably a good bit more for most people, but it was for the owner of a residential construction company, so he got some good deals along the way.

People where I am in East TN have pretty awesome basements. Wine cellars, golf sims, theaters, etc. are all things my friends have in theirs.

I have storage

We have about 2,000 sq feet in our basement. We have a pool table and trampoline on one side and a gym in another section. Mostly used for kids to play in and watch tv. The rest is pretty wide open and will change as the kids get older.

The billionaire-heiress of a car dealership empire is remodeling her parents multiple vacation homes? Did the McDavids pay this news outlet to write a story about her?

Aspen is a mother effer for new construction and renovations these days as they are limiting building permits. I was trying to buy an existing build for a client earlier this year and the seller had us by the balls over pricing as they had an approved permit for a renovation. Screw that place.

Basements are cool as hell. I’ve always loved them. Shame we can’t have them down here.

My basement lair is pretty cool and it's not even all that swanky like these Colorado folks.

A multistorey mountain basement in Aspen is OT baller land, not suburbia.

Especially on Red Mountain. That’s the area billionaires have houses with views overlooking the town. Houses sell for over $2,000 / sq. ft.

I doubt she cares to waste time speaking with managers. Though you may have a point, as $ does not necessarily indicate whether an individual is or isn’t going to be fussy and/or penurious.

The rich preach about diversity, then price everyone out and enact policy that limits new construction to protect property values..

I will never understand having that kind of money and then paying to live where other people who have that kind of money live.

Sorry, if I ever have frick you money, I'm buying land first. The Joneses can go frick themselves. I wouldn't even want my vacation home to have neighbors.

No thank ya. Having neighbors living on top of each other? Talk about putting a misery on a man! These people have piles of money and their dealing with the same problems some jackass like me would he dealing with if I was trying to build a shed for my mower. Nah, if money can't buy me the comfort that the absence of neighbors would give me, then it ain't worth shite.

You'd figure the green folks would not object to multi level basements.

But they hate them because only rich people can afford them, which means basements are racist.
