Years and years ago. Someone was doing the same thing to me. Saying I don't have guns. Etc. So I took out four guns and put them on a piece of paper with the posters name on it. Dude then emailed the admin and said I threatened him. Luckily whatever mod emailed me read the exchange.

What's the proper term for a military style rifle? One that uses military caliber rounds yet is single fire only.
The fire rate being the main difference.
I know assault and Clip trigger people. It's like gun people are the only people who are stickers for proper terms.
I am fine with calling them semi-auto rifles.

Does anyone know the difference between the school police and the town police? For example, do they require same training, vetting, etc.?

Like any other group of people, you can't judge everyone because of the actions of some.
There are a lot of police out there who take their job serious, who would have entered in that school without even thinking about it and knows how to communicate with people to prevent a situation from escalating. Unfortunately I think those police, overall, are outnumbered by a bunch of self serving assholes who takes advantage of the power that comes with the position.
I remember people saying police are the biggest gang in America. I think there is some truth to that, but that doesn't mean all policeman are in the gang so to speak.
In this situation I have no idea what these idiots were doing. I would think that they would be able to give a press conference that would provide answers or shed some light on their reaction, but they fricked that up as well.
I would imagine there is a lot of hate towards that department by the citizens in that city. I assume they will have to make personnel changes. This wasn't just 1 or 2 police.. This goes on the whole department IMO.

I tried to give law enforcement the benefit of the doubt. I know they get a lot of undeserved bad press lately. But it just keeps getting worse the more I learn about this. This was handled so poorly and is a huge embarrassment to Texas law enforcement.
And I can’t imagine how parents parents felt being held up by cops outside of the school while knowing what’s going on inside. They demonstrated that we can’t depend on the police.
And that “gun free zones” based off the honor system makes us a bunch of sitting ducks.
