You picked that up from which post?

The one where I said I wanted to end SS or the one where I said I wanted to end SS?

I think, using your own stats, the majority of us (voting age adults) would vote to end SSI right effin now.

Clearly, the majority of boomers are fine w/o SSI
.

Its the following gens where your battle lies.

But SSI isn't called the "third rail" for nothing.

Just a quick Google search shows that is not true.

Baby Boomers are more inclined to favor tax increases or keeping benefits as they are, with only 13% preferring benefit cuts.

Every other generation wants to cut benefits at a rate of ~50%, with Gen X at a whopping 76%.

I thought yout other post said 53% of Boomers had saved enough for retirement?

Yeah, eff em.

It was a horrible idea to start with, and it has only gotten worse.

If it makes all of you feel better, I'll never live long enough to get even 10% of what my wives or I paid into it.

I apologize for our success.

Upwards of 47% have saved nothing for retirement, although that is a range, and is likely closer to 30%.

That doesn’t even get into the number of how many saved substandard amounts for retirement.

Some studies show that over 50% of the younger boomers have less than $250k to their name, which includes real estate and savings. Another ~15% have less than $500k to their name.

There is a reason that only 13% of boomers even consider cutting SS, and the vast majority want to increase taxes on their children and grandchildren.

Ok, so Boomers are poor, and have to keep working to survive?

I was told we were greedy and just wanted more money?

And, that still doesn't change the fact that we are transferring more wealth and donating more than any generation in history.

Or, do you dispute that?

Yes.

The generation which was given the greatest possible economy, fricked it all up.

The two aren’t mutually exclusive, as shown by the fact that boomers want to tax their children and grandchildren to maintain their lifestyles.

That is called passing poor choices onto your offspring.

Yes, I dispute it.

If you actually read into the “great wealth transfer”, it isn’t the massive movement of wealth you make it appear.

It is heavily concentrated. Heavily.

Hell, upwards of 50% of boomers have no wealth to transfer, and another 25% will likely spend what they do have to maintain their lifestyles.

Then you consider the amount of debt that is used to build these assets.

It is a fricking mess.

Isn't there a Star Trek or Twilight Zone episode about a planet where where no one lives past 30? Isn't that what Logan's run was about.

These young cats think they're the 1st ones to think about this subject. Another example of their world of no original thoughts. Sad little people.

You’re in every SS thread and It’s definitely not because you’re wanting to shut the failed program down, quite the opposite actually.
