My stepson got one of these in his mom’s name. Thing is, the speed limit is fairly new in that area and there are no photo enforcement signs.
They’ve since disabled the pay now button on their website even.

Don’t speed and you won’t get a ticket. Pretty simple
Better not go 26 you criminals!

I’ve always thought it’s pretty bullshite to have school zone signs that aren’t electronic. In Texas they have multiple periods during the day and the times on the signs are so small it’s impossible to read while driving. The signs should all have flashing lights to indicate when the school zone is active. They don’t want that though because they would write less tickets… even though it would make the school zone safer.
100% with you on this. It’s chickenshit that the sign telling you what time the school zone is active is at the point where the school zone starts, with tiny arse letters you can’t read in time to actually slow down.
It’s also chickenshit because not every driver knows when school is in session. Why are we slowing traffic down when nobody is at the school?
They should all have lights
Youd think if we are really that concerned with children being hit by cars, this would be a priority

According to Kleinpeter, around $300,000 would have gone to the offices of the constable and justice of the peace. The rest would go to the company that sells the radar gun.
Is this common for radar gun manufacturer's to get a cut? What kind of bullshite is this?

I'm sure the mfr of the radar guns provide the equipment at no cost and in return get a percentage of each ticket issued.

Not only would I not pay that…I would also never patronize a business inside Brusly’s city limits afterwards.

In this case the school zone is on the service road and not even the main highway. But they are issuing tickets on the main highway.

If 700k in fines were sent out and only 300k is making it back to the city as profit. That means company is making 400k in two weeks with the supposed free equipment. Sounds kind of scammy. Whose politically connected brother in law has this business.

Oh, I agree. It is a total grift job by the mfr.

So, they are telling Golden Meadow "Hold my beer".
That little town at one time was a notorious speed trap and they were not ashamed about it either. Not sure what's going on down the bayou today, but back in the 60's and 70's they probably set a state record for speeding tickets by a small jurisdiction.
Edited to add this: Just checked on-line and it's apparent Golden Meadow is still at it with BS speeding tickets and other BS moving violations from what I've read from people victimized by those A-holes.

Civil rights case based on a deprivation of due process would quickly cure this issue.

This is pretty standard.

While true, those times aren’t exactly a moving target.
You know when school starts and ends, yeah?

It does seem as this one precinct is doings things different in this school
Zone.

There should be flashing lights when active.
The goal shouldn't be to write tickets. It should be to slow vehicles down where kids might be walking.
And it makes no sense to write tickets to people on LA1 there when the school is on a physically separate service road called Vaughn Dr. Now speeders on that service road are fair game. They should slow the frick down because I've seen kids walking there. And in Brusly's infinite wisdom, they've decided against sidewalks in front of that school for some stupid reason.

So how long before we learn his office has purchased a 22ft Bass Cat Jaguar STS and Ram 3500 Diesel 4x4 to cover "Maritime Operations"?
I mean....They could probably do so much more good for the community!!
