Someone should have told those dumb asses that the Chinese aren't going to be very impressed with the "it's cause I'm black" defense.

LOL

How stupid can you fricking be? In China? Did they think that the same "no rules" shite they live here would fly there?

I by no means are taking up for them, but I think the school should have never put them in that position. Stay in the US and play your games.

This incident could very well ruin these young men lives.

Dude they are getting to travel the world for free and go places that 90% of college students could never afford. What situation are you talking about from UCLA? A free vacation?

Don't US college basketball players go over there every year to play? Have any of them been caught before? I don't recall them ever having been caught before so it's clearly not the fault of the school. These are grown men. They know better.

While not completely out of the realm of possibilities, I find it hard to believe that these athletes were not warned about local laws by their coaches, SID, AD, chaperones, or someone. If I had to put money on it, I'd bet these idiots were told to mind their manners and that fricking up would result in more severe consequences in China than in Westwood.

I went on a cruise to the Bahamas for my high school senior trip. The first night there was a mandatory meeting and a couple of people (from the cruise line security dept, I think) gave us a heads up about local laws and police enforcement. Specifically mentioned was that what is entrapment in the US is SOP in the Bahamas. Sure as shite, a girl from Mt. Carmel got arrested for one joint and all of daddy's influence and attorneys couldn't get her immediately sprung.

I was an idiot at 18 (still an idiot, but whatever), but i wasnt a "Shoplift in China" idiot.

Them kids are dumb. Too sheltered and stupid to understand that a different country plays ball differently. They're not necessarily evil kids, just dumb.

They about to learn that China isn’t the US justice system. Ain’t about to get off with a probation slap on the wrist like they would’ve probably gotten here

If one of them wasn't a Ball I dont think most aports fans would of known this happened.

If this was a "normal" us citizen they would be so fricked. Lets see if they can get out of this one.

It will be funny to see Lavars next interview if they are forced to prison for like 3 years.

What position?? They know not to steal-it's not the schools fault-it's theirs for making a poor decision. Don't feel sorry for them at all.

Didn't they already announce that the three are just confined to their hotel room until the trip is over? Nothing is going to happen to them

This calls for some sustained kneeling during the playing of the Chinese National Anthem.

Someone already said. Three years in prison if China wants to go hard in the paint.
