Signed it and don’t know anything about the plans, mainly because I’m a racist

Kip, of course
Or "Uncle Tom" as the Together BR folks call him

They better get double the necessary signatures because last time around it was home cooking to miss by less than 100 signatures when they had a pad of several thousand. Best of luck to them, I moved to have kids. I signed last time.

One of the main tricks they used last time, and will likely use again, to invalidate signatures is that they were not identical to what’s listed on the EBRP voter rolls. If you are listed as “Michael Thomas Smith” on the roll and you sign the petition “Michael T. Smith,” your signature will not count.

TogetherBR is as divisive a group as there is.

Really wish we could get a common sense mayor that could unite.
The best thing Kip Holden could do for himself is declare his candidacy for Mayor today and start running.

I question how the incorporation of St. George is going to make Baton Rouge better.
Don’t worry about it. Together Baton Rouge has all the answers you are looking for

I live about a half mile inside of the city limits or I'd sign. My daughter is already in middle school so I'll likely continue paying for private since she'll probably be in high school by the time anything changes. I still hope it passes.

I agree with this part unless we can get rid of this unified government nonsense and let everyone in the parish vote for parish president.
Please explain who in the parish doesn’t get to vote for the Parish President? The only people that I can think of are those that live here illegally, didn’t care enough to register to vote, or they are under the age of 18.
The problem isn’t that everyone in the parish doesn’t get to vote for the Mayor President but instead it’s that <40% of the registered voters actually cared enough to vote.

Yeah, last time around they supposedly 90% of the way there for the better part of a year before turning it in and coming up short. This time they actually have a time limit. Can't drag it out for multiple years.

I thought kip did good overall but I didn't like when shite hits the fan like the way he handled the flood and Alton sterling/cops killing. In both situations he went into hiding mode and during the flood he left to China for his business meeting. He should have canceled his China visit and be there for Baton Rouge but sherrif Sid Gautreaux was in charge leading the city with law and order.

Agreed. Kip shite the bed with the mishandling of the flood and shootings.

"Nearly, halfway, almost There's."
Why hasn't everybody who signed it last time signed?
That'd give you well over the required sigs.
What's the deal? In a proposed city of 90,000, why is it taking so long to get a sixth of it to sign?

Looking at that map I realize I spent 4 years at LSU and had only a sketchy idea of where those outlying areas are.

quote:so you don't think BR is doomed now? With a cop hating Mayor and her puppet Chief of Poliice. Some of her advisors are Gravy and Silky Slime two of the more racist POS you will ever find . I live in LP but have several friends/coworkers that are trying to sell and get out of BR. I really hope that St George makes it and they can expand that Zoo from Baker to i-12, then mayor president can have her own chocolate City
This would doom Baton Rouge and eventually St George would fall into disrepair too.
