All this map tells me is that communist states like California and Illinois benefitted the most from student loans being wiped clean. NO WAY the commies in those two states are prioritizing their student loan payments. Bunch of freeloaders got their loans taken care of the last few years.
Better explanation: There are more high paying jobs in those places, and people can afford to pay back their loans.
California communist? It is the 5th largest economy in the world, and it is a net contributor to federal tax revenue. Many states in the south are net receivers of federal revenue, making them ....
wait for it ....
freeloaders.

we had a post on this topic earlier..... SEC vs SWAC, SWAC on average had 3x the delinquency rates
Previous post
SWAC had between 9.0% and 26.6% Delinquency rates for their 11 schools. with a school % average of 19.2%
SEC Schools ranged from 1% to 8.5% (thanks Mississippi schools) with an school % average of 3.9%
So SWAC is about 5x higher with delinquencies vs SEC. Things are much worse when you look at For-profit schools......

The problem is that his perception of who is freeloading and who is not is completely backwards.

Here's an interesting breakdown from 2000s to 2017:
Public 4 Year University = 17.4%
Private Non-Profit 4 Year University = 17.6%
Public 2 Year = 25.8%
For Profit Colleges = 52.5%
Talk about straight up robbery.

How much debt did you take on? Are you at least a doctor or lawyer? Was it worth it (salary you make now vs amount of debt)?

I was intimately involved in both processing PPP and filing ERC credits, I can assure you there was no oversight and everyone was taking them, whether they needed them or not. I don’t blame them, why not take free money, but you’re either full of shite or an idiot if you think either program wasn’t absolutely abused
I see your reading comprehension was about as good as the PPP loan oversight. I did not say it wasn't abused. What I did say was that for every abuser, there were many more businesses that were kept afloat, and this happened because of a government shutdown that went on far too long and was enforced in many parts of the country too aggressively against small business.

When I was in college, I had several peers who had full TOPS and took out the maximum offered student loans just to pay for like.. apartment, food, living, etc. And they used all of it since it was there, versus being frugal to ideally have some leftover for repayment.
Nights out, takeout every meal, etc.
Several friends with living expense student loans were the ones running their Tiger Card at the dining hall for the rest of us for days at the end of semester just because they had so many dining hall swipes left due to never using it.
A few have told me how much they regret this now that they realize the repercussions of having done that :/ Things like this are why I'm grateful I had very financially knowledgeable parents who forbade me from getting loans.

I’m pretty confident that’s bullshite, especially on the ERC side

How is La. on that list when they have TOPS?
lol, like TOPS negates student loans.
Hint: It should, but people are stupid with money.

From the article…. Never are people responsible for their own actions…. It is always “racism”….. all so tiring.

Now, break it down by ethnicity.

Now, break it down by ethnicity.
The worst 7 states:
1. Mississippi 44% (55% White, 36% Black)
2. West Virginia 34.4% (90% White, 3% Black)
3. Alabama 34.3%. (63% White, 26% Black)
4. Kentucky 34.3%. (81% White, 8% Black)
5. Oklahoma 34.2% (60% White, 7% Black)
6. Arkansas 34.2% (63% White, 14% Black
7. Louisiana 32% (56% White, 31% Black
Not sure I’m seeing the racial connection quite as clearly as the widespread poverty and poorer state public education one.

Now hang on a minute
“While specific default rates for individual institutions are not always publicly available, some colleges in these states have been noted for high student loan debt among graduates”:
Jackson State University (Mississippi): Graduates had an average debt of $32,274, with 88% of students graduating with debt.
Sun Herald
Alcorn State University (Mississippi): Graduates had an average debt of $28,744, with 83% of students graduating with debt.
Grambling State University (Louisiana): A 2016 study found that Grambling students carried the second-highest average debt load in the nation, at $51,887, with a default rate of 16%.
There is a pattern

Ironically it was Obama that chose not to renew the $85 million funding program for HBCUs established by President Bush.
But HBCU's students get lots of grants. Bluefield State University in West Virginia is a HBCU, that has a majority white enrollment. The school has football team, basketball team, band, and then the rest of the student body is white. In 2013 white enrollment exceeded 90%, enrollment is 1300-1500 students. West Virginia is a poor white state and those student are attending on HBCU income grants.

That’s probably part of the problem. TOPS has low standards, so people who shouldn’t go to a university are
