Pretty much, I grew up where feelings were for woman not men. Stop being pussies grow up how can you expect to be the foundation and leader of your family when you ooze weakness. You will never be the leader you were ment to be.

In this thread, Boomers and Gen Xers will act like one fig crying at a Taylor Swift concert is an indictment on an entire generation of men.

I think it might be beyond my abilities to effectively communicate to you just how different the expectations for masculine behavior were for us. I'm not saying that this was necessarily all a positive. It did make prior generations of men more resilient and tougher, just like the generations before us were more resilient and tougher than mine. The rate of change has not been linear though! The rate of feminization of men has increased tremendously and at the same time we are masculinizing our girls.

We NEVER cried. We NEVER showed excess emotion in public. That shite was beaten out of us at an early age and reinforced by social pressure and bullying. To an extent it was good for us. Boys and young men with unchecked emotion are dangerous because we mature more slowly and are less intrinsically capable of emotional regulation at a comparable age to our female counterparts and the outcome of our lack of regulation is more severe.

So the argument that this is not the case because it doesn't apply to ALL individuals is missing the point. This is an indisputable general trend, but not at all applicable to everyone. I can say that to people of my generation and older, many Millenials and Gen Z look and act, to us, like all the men in the cities in the Hunger Games movies.

How much of this is social vs. environmental? I have no idea, but there has been a significant downward trend in age-specific testosterone levels since the early eighties. This could be caused by any number of factors from EDC's to increased weight to our sedentary lifestyles, etc.

TLDR - It is happening and the difference in expected masculinity is pretty obvious to anyone from prior generations.

In the last 30 years our education system has been completely feminized. Men simply are not becoming teachers and educators unless they are coaches. It's not a coincidence the degradation of traditional masculinity started to occur at the same time.
