Darkness on the Edge of Town and Nebraska are fantastic albums with great tracks.

I would also throw in Lucky Town in there as well

I have a soft spot for Greetings as well

Ingrid Andress singing the national anthem at the allstar game last summer was pretty bad. The camera was panning to players and they thought they were being punked or something.

Those songs were mediocre pop-centric drivel compared to most every other song on those albums. Every record Springsteen released from 1975 to 1992 was full of great songs that you’ve probably never heard.

So you’re saying the proof of his popularity are the songs no one has ever heard of?

Same thing with Jimmy Buffet. The ignorant only know Margaritaville and Fins instead of his dozens and dozens of great songs.

Someone did without the music and dubbed over voices which just calls more attention to the gayness of the video

I don’t remember the song or the name of the woman singer, but we’re seven pages in and no one has mentioned the cringy New Orleans Saints video from that cross eyed woman that was a huge source of entertainment for the OT a few years back.

Taste in music is obviously subjective. As far as Springsteen is for my taste, I’ve listened to everything he released in his first forty years of being in the business. (I have a yankee in-law who’s quite the fan). The only thing I “like” is the album “Nebraska”.

Just not my thing in general.

He does give concert-goers a lot of quantity. I’ve seen him play twice and never again.

For the purposes of this thread, Yoko (in general) is the most awkward mainstream personality. So the Chuck Berry moment with her & John.

Bruce looked awful, but I enjoy seeing all of that group together including Quincy and especially singing the chorus.

Bruce’s thing always seemed to be performing on stage. He supposedly was good in concerts.

Fair enough, cause it is totally subjective, but you can only legitimately criticize if, like you, you know his catalog.

And yes, his live shows were unreal when he was younger.

Wasn’t it something like “I am Who Dat” or something similar song by Collins (I think that was her last name) who used to sing at the Caterie or whatever the bar was named there at Stanford and Perkins.

That was more regional, but it was probably bad enough to make it into conversations about the most cringe moment in music history.

Edit:

That is objectively awful no doubt whatsoever. So bad. Especially if you watch it all the way through.

That’s not what I’m saying at all. The songs that most people never heard of are his best work. The proof of his popularity is the fact that he has sold 140 million albums. Born to Run, Darkness on the Edge of Town, The River, Born in the USA and Tunnel of Love are full of great songs that non-fans aren’t familiar with. Blinded by the Light, Because the Night, This Little Girl, Fire and Pink Cadillac were great songs recorded by other artists that many people aren’t aware were written by Springsteen.
