Pele going to the best value six flags in Texas (free water park). People going to SeaWorld. Etc. When I lived in Austin as a kid we used to go at least every other month. The Mercado was cool and there was a Mexican restaurant we used to walk to we all liked.
I never liked the river walk or the Alamo area.

This is pretty much true, but when events are held in Baton Rouge there's usually a reason- we have some pretty substantial industry happening along our real river that happens to dump directly into the Gulf Coast. The River Center(former Centroplex) is a joke but as a tourist visiting SA it seemed like the entire experience was a gigantic and tedious Chuck E Cheese. I was just astounded at how underwhelming and commercial the SA experience was. And that creek they call a river... good lord

I saw a giraffe running beside us like a damn border collie on a fence line once near Blanco once.
I thought I saw a Road Runner off one of the state highways. But I glanced at the road and when I looked back all I saw was a coyote wearing an ACME jet pack and a dumb look on his face.

The ones Charles Barkley used to talk about all the time saying the reason they were so big was because they are so many churros? That shite used to be funny until some women got made, complained to TNT and he had to stop.

Why are you so obsessed with Baton Rouge. I’ll compare passport stamps with you any day, I’ve been to every state and every major city. Baton Rouge is a wonderful place to live it’s a great place for kids to grow up. Criminals are increasing but it has never effected me or anyone I know. I’ve literally been everywhere and may be my favorite place.

You've literally been everywhere and BR still your favorite place.

Pathetic.

That qualifies you to vote in Chicago, obviously.
Let us see those passport stamps for Cincinnati and Pocatello, please.

The river walk is a shitty tourist trap. Pearl is great. There are some great restaurants but there is not an area with a high density of them. Also some great golf in the winter. Like someone else said, great place to live, not so great for a vacation.

Seriously, I think someone can start a thread about any place in the world and at least half the board will have a reason why its such a shitty place.

We all know this. What is your point? This is about SA not BR.

I like going to SA, but most of our time is spent in the Hill Country

They should name it the Ditch Walk.

Hell, Bayou Nezpique is wider than that so-called river.

I’ve been to the river walk in San Antonio and the Mall of America in Bloomington more times than I care to admit because of dipshite friends and relatives visiting. Both are massive tourist traps.

You went to SA and stuck around downtown? I take it that you don’t golf.
