LINK

The link is south of the Salton Sea, and in the immediate vicinity are a rain line, a gasoline pipeline, a highway, a fiberoptic cable and very few people.

The muddy mess wasn't even noticed until the 1950s and it has move slowly, except when it moved very fast one day.

There's a rotten eggs smell associated with it. The San Andreas fault is also there and many thought that area could be the site of the next big San Andreas earthquake.

The video in the linked article shows a gentle spring, until you get to the part of the loaded train speeding within spitting distance of the rather massive mud spring.

This could turn into a real cluster....

I'm either too tired from being kept up by the storms last night or this post didn't make much sense.

So what you’re saying is that California has a case of the running shits, right?

This has spa potential. Marketing just needs to downplay the risk of the ground opening up under it, or molten rock welling up into the mud.

I hope that the California Bureau of Investigation can catch this fricker ASAP. What kind of a sick puppy would go about intentionally stealing a mud spring and moving it to different locations just to frick with people?

I moved 60 feet in one day? Somebody stop this maniac.

It's inhuman.

Seems that you could just dig a drainage canal in the direction it’s moving to the Salton Sea and put in large culverts or a bridge for the railroad/highway.

The ones putting valuable transportation, energy, and communication infrastructure within 100 yards of a fault line call us the idiots.
