Why? If your faith says a diametrically opposed faith may be valid, what exactly are we doing here?

I say let God sort it out and trust your faith.

God literally instructed you to have no gods before Him but you don't think he really cares if we facilitate others having other gods before Him?

I think the story here is either (or both) that: a) Faith in Europe has declined so much that RCC cathedrals are now the equivalent of interfaith chapels at airports; and/or b) RCC clergy are more concerned with being seen as politically correct than preventing people from being led astray to a false faith

Both.

The intelligentcia of the West fricking hates its own heritage, and that includes the Church. Leftists adore Islam simply bc it’s not the religion of white people. That’s all there is to it.

Jesus also said that He is the WAY the TRUTH and the LIFE, and no man comes unto the Father but by Him, and so no, that’s not the same God ad Islam.
Religious philosophers have debated over this for a while. A fundamentalist (you?) would say this means that everyone who isn’t a Christian is going to hell. Many others think it means to live a “Christ-like” life. You know, the golden rules? When the Pharisees demanded that Jesus tell them which of their 116 rules were the most important?

God also literally commanded us to love each and if your enemy strikes you, turn and give him your other cheek, then pray for your enemy. It’s about humility, love, and an act of faith.

I'm not sure it's fair, but I get the sense that a lot of clergy in Europe are essentially secular social services personnel with religious flavoring at this point. The rise of universalism among "Christian" clergy is a sign of this in my mind.

Yeah, it seems like it mirrors the prevailing social attitudes instead af being a bedrock. When an Irish Catholic priest is capitulating, you know the last of the hold outs are pretty much gone.

THat’s what scripture very clearly says. He is the only way of escape from separation from God, and so by denying Christ, and the opportunity for salvation which the Son of God paid on the cross for our way back into fellowship with God and to Heaven, we select that for ourselves. He doesn’t. God gave the ultimate sacrifice to pay for that, something he would not let Abraham do to his own son, because only a perfect sacrifice could atone for our sins. There’s nothing more He needs to do. The ball’s in our court.

And reflecting the righteousness of Christ is sanctification, and only with Christ in one’s heart can that process even begin. Everything else is glory to man for his good deeds, and scripture clearly says that our goodness is like filthy rags before God because we serve ourselves and want the praises of men, like the Pharisees did. The need for God and then Repentance does not come from trying to get on God’s good side by doing good stuff. It’s not impressive, and it’s that very law that will judge us all as coming up short because we have all sinned. Again, it’s only through Christ. Your good works will not be what you want to meet Him with.

Christ is like the lambs blood over the doors of the Jews in Egypt during the Passover. Those with Christ’s blood as atonement for their sins, and above the doorway to their heart so to speak will be spared.

Jesus didn't turn the other cheek in the temple. That phrase has been bastardized beyond recognition.

There is no such thing as "other gods". Everyone is just praying to the same god.

Right
Gotta love the atheist liberals telling us that churches should openly allow blasphemy…bc Jesus said to be nice to others.

Yea man Islam is great all the best characters from Judaism and Christianity show up to help.

My favorite is Moses telling Mohammed to go to Allah and haggle over the number of daily prayers. Fifty prayers a day is outrageous. The people won’t accept it. Other religions are offering one prayer a day. Don’t be afraid to walk away, Mohammed.

And you know what, Moses was right. Allah caved and lowered it to 5 daily prayers.

Just remember that little tidbit next time you are in a middle eastern market. Haggling is quite literally their cultural DNA.

It doesn't make any sense when people say praying to the wrong god. That would imply there is more than one god which neither the Bible nor the koran teaches. Maybe you could argue that they are saying the wrong prayer, but if there is only one god then it's not possible to pray to the wrong god.

Good way to convert them. Jesus accepted everyone.

Sure, but he didn't preach an alternative message.

Someone, somewhere has to have standards.

And Jesus did not accept people as they were. Jesus accepted their faith in God and offered forgiveness for sin, which they were expected to do their best not to commit again.

People mistakenly believe that loving someone means that we accept/support/celebrate everything the loved one does/says.

Jesus came into this world to change the world, not to allow those in it to continue to wallow in sin and misery.

The Catholic church has always been perfectly set up to be the foundation of the one world religion of the antichrist.

Catholic priests in Ireland must be tired of diddling white boys and want some dark meat.

Joke's on them. Boys in Islam are used to the butt stuff with older men.

There is a video attached somewhere in a response to this matter. In the video, the Catholic Priest appears to be celebrating Holy Mass as he is garbed in his vestments and standing at an altar. A Muslim cleric is chanting his Muslim prayers during the celebration. My gut reaction is this is blasphemy. I'm appalled an ordained Priest would allow this in front of the Blessed Sacrament and the congregation.

While previous Popes (John Paul II in particular) have participated in Ecumenical Celebrations (the celebration in Assisi comes to mind) with clerics from other faiths, those celebrations were held offsite publicly, meaning it was not held in a Catholic Church with the Blessed Sacrament reposed. Whatever this Priest in this video is doing with that Muslim Cleric chanting is NOT Holy Mass. Furthermore, assuming the Blessed Sacrament was reposed in the Tabernacle, this is blasphemy. Ecumenical, interfaith celebration is one thing - the Sacrifice of Jesus as reflected in the Breaking of His Body (the Consecrated Bread) and the Drinking of His Blood (The Consecrated Wine) is something entirely different.

Get your hands on a Bible and lookup the Gospel of John Chapter 6 and read the entire chapter. Then tell me that Concreated Bread is NOT the Body of Christ. If you disagree, find me the scripture reading that refutes this passage.

The Holy Sacrifice of the Mass is a continuous, uninterrupted sacrifice that Jesus offered the night before He died on the Cross. For 2000 years, beginning on that Last Supper (i.e.Holy Mass) somewhere on this earth at this precise moment, a Priest (acting Persona Christi-in the person of Christ) is celebrating Holy Mass...right NOW.

Therefore it is blasphemy to add, change, or disrupt the mystery of God's sacrificial death being celebrated on the Altar of Sacrifice. The Holy Sacrifice of the Mass is THE Holiest Prayer man can offer to the Triune God. Jesus himself instituted the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass. Humanity did not create the Mass - God created the Mass through the action of Jesus Christ - True God and True Man. The Holy Mass is a gift from God.

Assuming what I saw happening in that video in that Church involved a Muslim Cleric chanting prayers during the Mass, then that Priest is guilty of heresy and should be defrocked.

Truth, what is that? - Pontius Pilate

Ireland had a few instances similar to above during Wuhan shutdowns and into the summer of 2020.

Even close to Easter some felt more being done for muslims than church members during limitations on services by the govt.

I think they may have even allowed muslim public call to prayer to the Catholic Church.

Then one priest or bishop (maybe guy in video in OP) helped celebrate and promote a muslim celebration that directly contradicts the child Abraham was told to sacrifice by God (also not sure on if slaughter of animals in sacrifice was going to happen but it was poorly communicated to public either way).

The church is losing ground in Ireland (past church abuse by church organizations & priests and up of its flock not the faith itself). They would be wise to not piss off the ones still committed.
