They’ve had a partner in Lafayette who has been doing family law for at least ten years. She’s good, too.

Im not impressed with AI.

Last night, my 6 year old son schooled Claude on how many different species of bears the San Diego Zoo has. It said four species of bears, and after my son’s quick review, we told Claude it forgot pandas. Claude quietly corrected itself that the San Diego Zoo had, in fact, five species of bears.

My 6 year old son is the Neo of generation MMIWG2SLGBTQQIA+ and will save us all from the machines.

PE's track record for torpedoing whatever they get their greedy little hands on, is welcomed for these Ambulance chasing stooges.

Well I'll leave the post up, regardless. In all my years interacting with them I had never noticed it. I only found that out b/c of an SEO-based article on a niche question was from their site and I was flabbergasted.

I don't understand the functional difference in an AI that is given certain parameters to settle a case and, say, an insurance defense attorney given the same parameters by an adjuster.

To me it seems simple. You tell the AI don't settle for less than this and send them in. A lot of law is making deals and being able to recall a bunch of facts which AI really excels in. I'd be nervous long term as a lawyer.

Exactly what I was saying. If an insurance company tells AI it's authorized to settle the case for between $x and $y, and an adjuster tellsa lawyer it's authorized to settle the case between $x and $y, what's the functional difference?

The adjusters can largely be removed from that scenario, too. AI evaluation of cases removing the middle man based on big data. The adjusters become redundant.

Some of the mid size ID firms have random one off or two off partners

At this point I'm trying to stack as much as I can now because I'm pretty confident the area of law that I actually like to practice will be fully AI in 10 years or sooner. Absolutely zero chance someone will pay me to do this for the rest of my normal working years.

Bull crap. No, it won't. For one thing, AI is too unreliable to trust with legal opinions. Attorneys across the country are being sanctioned for citing non-existent cases or misinterpreting what a case says.

Westlaw CoCounsel AI is legitimate and trustworthy.

AI can't go to court and can't negotiate with opposing attorneys/parties.

Putting aside AI, it's hard to negotiate with a lot of opposing counsel who are dolts in general and can't properly evaluate their cases.

And yet the boomers are confused about why the zoomers are nihilists who about anything and are failing to launch as adults.

The Tech Bro hellscape we are barreling toward is hostile to humanity and only good for a tiny tiny minority.

Antinatalism is the only way to fight the system. Don't voluntarily bring anymore future wage slaves into existence.

Or we might see more Luigis pop up.

A lot of what you hear out of Dario and others is incredibly reductionist and completely ignorant of how the professional world works. It kind of reminds me of the first half of the Gell-Mann amnesia effect, which was used to describe when you see a dumb beat reporter report inaccurately on a field you as a reader may be an expert on. Those guys also know that by fostering panic and paranoia, it’s incredible marketing especially as they look to raise capital. I’m more worried about it for other reasons and probably farther down the road.

You don’t sound unhinged at all. Seek therapy dude. Even if she has to come to your mom’s basement to help.
