As a police officer, his job is to protect the community. He was just doing his job. I am sure every day when they hit the streets, its in the back of their mind that anything can happen at any time.

Hopefully is received/receiving some type of counseling, but either way I am sure all the other offers give him their full support and let him know he was just doing his job. Everything that came from it is people looking for a reason to protest to spread their flawed message.

Wow. This is unbelievable. Well, I guess it's believable considering who is involved. I wonder when the children of all the deceased officers who don't have criminal records will be invited to meet with Obama?

BR, idk. But he's already met privately with the family of the Dallas PD officers that were slain.

Empathy and compassion are political now? The irony of you making that asinine statement if you are a liberal speaks volumes for your intelligence and those who share your sentiment.

I definitely agree. Also feel for the officer who shot Alton; I can't imagine how drastically his life has changed from the events that followed.

He is not to blame. He did his job.

The media and protesters are to blame for the aftermath.

I know Blane, have spent time with he and his spouse. Nicest people, can't recall any negatives coming out of their mouths. Without divulging anything, they are placing their faith in God and are thankful that Blane made it home the morning after the incident.

His wife is a friend of mine. The absolute sweetest person I have ever met. Always a smile on her face even with all the crap she sees in her job as an EMT. You'e right, it's their faith in God that is carrying them through.

I can't even imagine how many gunshot victims she has sewn up, and never have I heard her utter any blanket terms about a particular race of people.
