Definitely not "odd" but extremely rare - the early to mid 90s Efini RX-7. Exclusively sold in Japan and intended to be the luxury/high-end version of Mazda, the whole Efini line was discontinued after a few years

THE BEAST
Guy put a WW II Spitfire airplane engine (12 cylinders) in a land vehicle then took it to the German Autobahn and proceeded to blow by everybody else like they were sitting still. Terrible gas milage, and odd looking vehicle, but quite cool in what it could do on the open road. I think he put a Rolls Royce grille on the front and folks started calling RR about where to buy one.
