When this place first opened in the mid 90's it was a 21 and up club. There was a LOT of talent that frequented the bar on weekends looking for companionship.

LSUNEC, anyone recall what that was? forerunner of NLU maybe?
It seems to me that when my parents went there it was Northeast La. Jr. College. Dad worked on the student crew that planted the pine trees out near Desiard. when i was a kid it was NLSC, Northeast La. State College. Sometime in the 60s or 70s it became NLU

Spent a lot of time at Cooter Bay in the 90's! Always plenty hot sloots there ready to mash! Anyone remember the one guy that always wore the cutoff denim shorts, tank top, and dew rag?? Dude was there everytime the door was open

I went to school with the owners kids that are probably the current owners if it is still going by that name. Yes, those burgers are legit.

Anybody remember Whip and Chad on 104.1 in the early 00's?
Sure do. Hung out at the toy drive a couple of times. Chad Hays is a teacher now.

91.1 was awesome. Especially about the time that Grunge hit the scene.
Ni66a 98. Even the brothas called it that.

What was the one next to cinema 3?
It was across from Eastgate on the side street north of Sal's. It was the only place in town where we could order a beer while being less than 18. The owner told us as long as we kept our cool he would look the other way. It was mostly people from Wossman who hung out there.

Who else chewed their feet up on the aggregate bottom of Forsythe pool? Who the frick thought that was a good idea?
If you spent an hour at the pool you were guaranteed to come home with bloody feet
