91.1 was awesome. Especially about the time that Grunge hit the scene.
It was great. An alternative gem in Funroe.
I remember going to Richwood on sundays to get beer. And you could buy CDs out of that dude's trunk with the Lincoln towncar in the parking lot

My brother worked at Benoit as a lifeguard for a couple of summers.. The stories he told me amazed me

Looked thru 3 pages. Anyone mention The Mirage?

The posters who would be talking about the Mirage are all dead from complications related to Hepatitis.
And by complications I mean gunshot wounds.

I member Mickey's.
Warehouse and Cormier's both still kicken'.
Chef Hans at the Warehouse has the oddest accent I've ever heard. Half Austrian German, half Ville Platte Cajun, and half Monroe Bubbonics.

My brother worked at Benoit
Hell, Benoit was only a block from my house. God knows how many hours I spent there. I remember it being built. When the dump trucks would pull out, me and my buddy on our bikes would grab hold somewhere on the tailgate and ride up to Parkview. They couldn't see us because of all the dust flying off their trucks. Amazing some of the shite we survived.

Benoit had a pool? I went to the Forsythe pool many times. They had kick arse popsicles.

Yep. After about 1970 it kind of went to shite though.

91.1 before it turned into 91X
I worked there when they transitioned from 88.7 to 91.1 and when 90.3 went on the air.
Wasn't Melvyn's originally on 18th Street by the tracks?

Is KLIC still on the air? I've been gone since '83 so I don't have a clue. I doubt they are. They sponsored my Little League team. Never did figure out how that little brick building could afford it.

Yes
Is there anyone here old enough to remember Sunday In The Park back in the late 1980's? I think it was sponsored by FM 102 and was basically a drunk fest held in the spring at Chennault Park.

KUZN was on the air from dawn to dusk. i left my parents' bedroom radio turned on one night when it went off the air. it woke them at 6 a.m. with the sign-on song "Dixie" playing at full volume.

Indeed, miss Tonga Island. Hated to see it shut down.

Which is why it was lovingly nicknamed "Shits Hall"
