The most frustrating thing about how good Super Bowl week was for NOLA

It showed what the city could do and can be with proper leadership and investment by the business community.
Most of the local leadership was sidelined, replaced by state and federal leadership, and leadership from the business community.
People volunteered, from all over. Everything was first class. The city had a ton of help from other areas with policing.
If we had competent local government officials...
If we had a proper sized police force...
If we had businesses willing to invest their time and money and expert knowledge...
No the city would not have Super Bowl successes every day. But it would be in much, much better shape than it is now.

You can pretty much say this for all major/mid size cities across America. There are a few outliers, but mostly all have corrupt shite leadership.

leave the homeless at the old schwegmanns warehouses and the mayor is almost out of office

You are not wrong at all.
It was so damn cool seeing the city absolutely shine. I was out and about all weekend and it was so great. Clean, safe. People were having a lot of fun and getting along.
And I know once the spotlight is off, once the feds and most of the state police are gone outside of Troop NOLA, we will be right back to what we actually are. Its a bit depressing to know what we could be.
It was still great though

are the bums back
Not yet and it sure would be nice if they take advantage of the opportunites they are being given.
Winter is almost over and the bums typically go elsewhere when it warms up.

Same thoughts here, it’s a damn shame that the voters in New Orleans can’t look past race and lefty politics to elect competent leaders.

Bourbon Street and the FQ looked like what I remember as a kid.
Relatively safe to walk around and enjoy yourself.
Let's be honest, despite the hyperbole of the OT, I won't cross Canal after dark these days. It's insane to me that they regularly have shootings on Canal and Bourbon. That NEVER happened when i was younger.
Mainly because NOPD ruled the area with an iron fist. Yes, sometimes they roughed people up and all but I think I would trade going back to that for a relatively safe environment.

Yeah they were given tickets and told to shut and get out of the way.

Back in the game (after a weird hiatus) and one from this group is considering running for mayor. Local boy made good, Jesuit, strong in the black community. Democrat but very tight with Landry and the Republican delegation . Would be a home run.

I’m so proud of Jeff Landry for his success with the Super Bowl

Kinda like a wedding when a bride gets her hair done, makeup on, tits pushed up, suckin’ dick like a hostage the night of the wedding… three weeks later, back to the same old shite.

When I was younger there were regular shootings in the white areas of Uptown. I'll take Bourbon and Canal

I mean, in a perfect world, you want to be the place that doesn't really require constantly cleaning up, but I'm not going to shite too much on the city for still being able to pull off one off one of the few things it remains good at doing.

New to politics in general or new to the NOLA political scene? Whoever it is better announce soon so he can start to build the finances to face Helena.
