OKC's skyline is kinda similar to Santiago, Chile's skyline (minus the mountainous backdrop).
Great pic !! I agree though with Bama Bird about how odd the one tower is extremely higher than there rest. Not sure if OKC has anymore buildings planned in the near future.

Lafayette is kind of disappointing.
Because it doesn’t have one? I think that’s probably the issue

There aren't many foreign cities with impressive skylines, exception to Hong Kong and probably a few Chinese ones, if you can see them through the smog.
Europe - Frankfurt, Germany
Central America - Panama City, Panama
Asia - Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia
Australia- Melbourne
Middle East - Doha, Qatar
North America - Calgary, Canada
South America - Sao Paolo, Brazil (talk about Urban Hell)
Africa - Luanda, Angola (not impressive but Africa was slim pickings

DC is one of the shittiest cities in the country. No skyline, no heart, no culture. Can’t wait to GTFO and back south when I retire.
Let’s see it first?

Visited Miami in 1992 (not long after Miami Vice), then again in 2019. Talk about a major difference. Tons more skyscrapers and an impressive skyline.
Just got back from the two big cities in Missouri. Kansas City wasn't bad, much better than I expected, but St. Louis remains very underwhelming.
Other disappointing ones out of major league cities I've seen:
Tampa (if they could combine it with the one in St. Petersburg way across the bay it might be decent)
Jacksonville
Memphis
Raleigh
Portland
Orlando

1). Dallas, TX. This city is the fourth largest in the country(don’t you fricking dare bring up city proper populations) yet the skyline felt so underwhelming especially compared to Houston, TX.
You've 1000% got to trolling.
The Dallas skyline is 1 of the most recognized skylines in the world.
Fountain Place, Reunion Tower, Chase Tower, & Bank of America Tower (green lights) are as top notch unique as it gets for any skyline.

Dallas’ skyline is striking – and it’s been deemed the best in the whole world

My favorite picture of the Dallas skyline.

I saw a Houston media article a few years back about why Houston and San Antonio have the skylines they do. It was basically that (relatively) cheap land allowed Houston to grow out, and it didn’t have to grow up (I bet Dallas has a similar explanation). IIRC, it said San Antonio has a historical preservation culture, and I think some ordinances / regs that make building new skyscrapers less attractive to investors.

I think Richmond’s looks pretty solid for a mid-sized city.

Agreed. The Dallas skyline certainly is attention grabbing but I’d hardly call it the most beautiful or tasteful.

This makes no sense. I personally think Dallas has a skyline that would be great for a 2m person city
Well, the Metroplex is centered around two large cities, so the metro population can’t really be compared to a place like Houston, where it’s centered around one.

That’s kind of important when referring to a skyline. Places in Texas, California, and generally out west have large city limits. This reduces the need for so much shite to be located downtown. With a lower population density, it makes sense that it doesn’t have the features of a San Francisco, NYC, etc.

I like Bangkok, Jakarta and because I live in Abu Dhabi, and its skyline is growing, just down the road Dubai Marina is quite impressive as is the area where Burj Khalifa (World's tallest building) is.
Also, Doha, Qatar and Kuwait City is OK

Still remember as a kid the hot tub on top of the Marriott in Dallas.

okctalk.com is a great place for upcoming developments. Some nice projects in the works for Bricktown and Downtown.
Oklahoma City’s landscape has come a long way since the canal started things off in 1999. It’s a destination city for price of living, a thriving film haven, Olympic training at state of the art boathouse facilities; just too much to name as how much improved this city has changed for the better.
One of many great pics captured by andrew_g_image (Instagram). He has great captures of OKC and all over Oklahoma.
