Social media has become a cultural cancer. It's created a keeping up with the Jones's but many people fail the realize that the Jones's are broke.

People fail to realize that a person only posts what they want them to see, which gives an inaccurate representation of their actual life, some of which may include adultery, disrespect, financial ruin, narcissism, or addiction.

This is the problem with modern dating. The whole "spark" concept is a fraud. It has literally nothing to do with long term dating. Even if there is a "spark", it will die.
This.

The idea of “I have to be happy at all times” is bullshite and people need to realize that.

That mindset of “spark” is why long term relationships are falling apart and the divorce rate is so high.

People live in a fake Disney reality.

I agree. It has to end. It is a biological necessity. The daydreaming, intense thinking, intense jealousy, physical manifestations, palpitations, etc. of that "spark" will destroy productivity.

How do I know I am correct? Because every one of us who has been married initially felt these feelings before they went away. And by going away, that's not necessarily a bad thing. It means you are finding a deeper love and connection, but many don't understand this, and think their relationship isn't fun anymore --- and the world looks better on the other side of the fence.

I guess cultures that do arranged marriages realize this.

Women want a Kennedy like guy, a famous great looking guy, so rich doesn’t really have to work, that every women wants , but is completely faithful to them and fulfills their every fantasy and need. Of course, no creature exist so they are always unhappy and unsatisfied in whoever they end up with.

Men have really low expectations of marriage so we are typically pleasantly surprised it doesn’t suck as bad as we thought.

Marriage for passion is as dumb as it gets. Passion is first thing to go in marriage

FIFY

Women, if you can find a man that doesn't have children and will take care of yours, he's not going to be everything you want, but don't you dare let him go.

This is why smart men don't date single moms. If the first guy doesn't stick around long enough to be with the mother of his child, she's probably difficult to deal with.

No. This is way too dumb to not be legit. Definitely a "modern" take.

This feminoid hasn't hit rock bottom of the cock carousel yet. I hope someone finds this and shows her boyfriend for his sake.

The biggest tell was “I asked advice from someone who cares about me personally but knows us both, but he didn’t say what I wanted to hear so I disgregarded that. Can the folks on the internet give me what I want?”

I actually think relationships that start with a hot and heavy spark are doomed to fail. While it’s amazing at first, when the spark fades you’ll resent them because it’s not what it once was. Think of it as a drug that made you feel awesome the first few times you tried it but eventually it turns detrimental to your health and entire life.

Marriage you pick someone based on their values, personality, etc. Not sex appeal. Sure looks matter, but you best realize those will fade and when it does you better be with someone you can tolerate every day

Yeah i dont get these responses. Sounds like she is headed for a unfulfilling relationship with someone that doesnt excite her. Likely she will cheat on him down the road and now they will all have a big mess. Yes, the guy may be nice, responsible, etc… but if there is no spark in the relationship either you live with it and be miserable, cheat, and/or get a divorce.

I didn't even read OP. I was just trying to use "modern woman" speak
