I guess I can get that not everyone owns a suit and is alergic to dressing nice because of some baw hunting camp pledge, but the hat wearing thing is just stupid. It's not that fcking difficult to comb your hair T-boy.

A 'nice' pair of jeans is essential for any Baw

Damn right. Dark colored. Have your old lady press em. And don't forget the belt with the big buckle to go with it.

I will never wear a suit to a wedding. I’m 43 years old and married, why do I want to be uncomfortable. I’m 50/50 on even wearing a tie

I wear a shite jacket with a collared shirt. Ties are old school and nobody really wears them anymore except for job interviews.

It’s acceptable to request it but what, you gonna send out invitations?

Generally, yes, dress will appear on the inviatation.

Black Tie optional on the invite should ensure everyone looks presentable.

Black Tie Invited should ensure most everyone shows up in at a least suit

Black Tie required should ensure that the majority will wear a tux but you’ll probably still get some suit wearers pushing it.

I’ve been invited to first two in the past year, so it’s still a thing. Classy affairs, I enjoyed them.

So 50% of the time you will wear a tie without a coat?

So you can't dress nice for a three hour event once a year?

You do realize the insecure ones are the ones wearing suits, right? They are doing specifically because of what others will think of them.

The people not wearing suits are more in the "IDAF what others think of my attire, I'm going to show support."

bullshite. Your “IDGAF” crew is a bunch of low class jackasses who don’t know how to tie a tie and don’t want to ask for help in the men’s department at the mall.

99.9 % of the time I’m wearing a suit to both. I don’t care if I’m the best dressed person in the room.

There are exceptions. I wore jeans and a dress shirt to my grandfathers funeral, but it was at the request of my grandmother. And to be honest, I think that’s how he would’ve wanted it. I’ve skipped the coat at outdoor weddings, especially in the summer. But on many occasions I was the only person in the church wearing a suit.

Agreed. You wear suits in honor of your host:

Wedding - bride and groom
Funeral - the deceased/deceased’s family
Court - judge
Church - God

I don’t understand how suits are uncomfortable. Get a tailored suit that fits you and is in a high quality fabric will feel incredibly soft and luxurious. I’m short and fat, so having less than an ideal body is no excuse. Be a man and wear a suit and tie.

I’m gonna go ahead and say your friend’s mother didn’t give a single care about what people were wearing.
