Kiribati covers a lot of distance and it was adjusted back in the 90s to be on the same side of the date line, resulting in that weird look we see today

I'm pretty sure the "clock time" in Kiribati and Hawaii are the same...but the calendar date is 1 day apart.

China not giving one frick about what time the sun comes up for its population. It looks like in general the country might cover 5 times zones, but frick it.
