Just spent the better part of an hour trying to apply for new health insurance only for the site to fail halfway through each time. And guess what? You have to start over from the beginning each time.

After the morning I've had dealing with Blue Cross Blue Shield and their outrageous copays ($125 to see a doc in the box without a referral from a primary care physician).

I'm about to just say frick paying an insurance premium and just putting that money back for potential emergencies. I think I'll come out cheaper this way.

How did health care in this country get so fricked up?

How do you get a capitalist country to accept socialized healthcare when you don’t have the votes?

You screw it up so bad that premiums go sky high and the people are begging you for socialized medicine. It’s actually genius, but will destroy the future of medical care, the national debt, and raise taxes.

Just wait until you see the doc options from MP carriers and your new yearly deductible of $7500....all for the low rate of $600 per month

I've been dealing with a chest cold since last Saturday. Last night I coughed all through the night and got up at 7am to be the first through the door at American Family Care in Hoover. Imagine my surprise when they told me I owed them $228 for my last visit because BCBS declined to pay since I didn't have a referral. AND it was going to be a $125 copay to see one today without the referral.

Why would you get a referral to go into a walk in clinic? That's what they are there for, convenience when you just need a breathing treatment or some cough syrup so you can sleep.

This shite has gotten worse every year. I pay over $400 a month just for me, and I get shite service for it.

When they do pass socialized medicine. And don’t worry it’s coming. You will pay much more in taxes then you do in premiums and the care will be worse leading you to ultimately want supplemental insurance.

Adding government to something has NEVER and I mean NEVER made it cheaper

But high taxes will be the new normal after a few years and we will take it like the cucks we are. Sad.

You being sarcastic right? I am not saying Obama (and congress) made it better or worse.. It all depends on who you ask, but the reason for Obamacare is because he at least had some type of plan to figure healthcare.

But I am not sure there is a "perfect" healthcare system for this country. Is there anything that can be done that would be best for everyone? Like Obama care, it seems like any type of changes will only benefit different groups of people while not benefiting others.

I consider myself a capitalist (I honestly don't see how any other economic philosophy can successfully work), but within a capitalist system, like anything else, you need laws & rules and there are always exceptions.. I think the medical system should be that exception. People shouldn't have to go broke to save their life. I don't know enough to know how that would be possible, but there has to be away both parties can put together something that is actually helpful to all, but as long as lobbyist and special interest groups have as much power as they do, it will likely never happen.

What about our current system is capitalist? That’s where you are being fooled. Obama and the left want you to think it’s capitalist so when it doesn’t work you ask for it to be socialized.

You or your doctor doesn’t know the cost of anything. And I’m serious about that. I’m a physician. I know the cost of about 10% of the things I do or prescribe. That’s NOT capitalism.

The answer is to remove third party payers (insurance and government) for all non emergency care. That way there is competition, transparent prices, and you can have a conversation with your doctor about what is a fair cost.... that’s capitalism

Welcome to 2001. There's not an insurance out there that covers much for doc in the boxes. Maybe if you have a $40 copay, but then your premiums are just going up.

Do you not have a primary care provider with walk in hours? You should always try to go to primary care first if at all possible.

This is why all the best docs are going to private pay only. $3000-5000 a year per patient and they have 250-500 patients TOTAL. Cash only, don't see anyone else.

400 patients x $3,000 is $1.2 mil Gross. Bing bang botta boom. No BS.

Now that’s capitalism. And those prices would come down as more physicians compete and offer lower and lower prices. Look at the cost of lasik. It used to be thousands. Now it’s $700 per eye. How is every other cost in medicine going up but that went down?

Because it’s cash pay with competition and transparent prices... actually a form of capitalism
