I've had a hacking cough since Saturday. My back literally cracks when I cough. I can't sleep through the night because I wake up coughing. Last year I had pneumonia for damn near a month. So, I'm not fricking around with this stuff. I'm going to the doctor before it gets worse.
And who knows, it could be a tumor.

Not as much as you think. What you bill for those services and what you receive from the 100 different insurance companies is completely different.
What each different plan covers
What drugs are covered by each plan and if you have to try a specific generic first
Surgery center costs
Etc
Etc
Etc
And you can’t argue the the patient knows ANY of those costs

I have been discussing this issue at the dinner table since the late 70s/early 80s.
Both parents physician. Brother is a neuro radiologist.
I have a much better understanding than you about the history of medicine in this country. And the decisions made early in the 20th century that lead us down the path to where we are today.

Wow. I would say I’m shocked, but I’m not really shocked.
I’m a physician FYI, so I would say I’m just as qualified as you to discuss the topic, but your narcissism ended any possibility of that almost immediately. You sound like a prick too which is ironic because physicians are usually the narsicistic pricks. Then again, you were raised by doctors so maybe that explains it. I hope I do a better job with my children.
