Things appear to be getting bad in Central this morning. Several people in Magnolia Lakes have posted status updates requesting boat rescues and that they are in the attics.

frick, are you serious?

I haven't checked on my parents since 8, but I made my mom turn off her phone to preserve power. They have a two-story house, thank goodness.

Wet. A little flooding in the streets. The water has come up about 2 in the last hour or so in the ditch across the street.

Damn!! Perkins between bb and Essen is bad! The produce stand has water in it. I think the ymca too. Of course all the houses across the street have 5 ft of water. The new neighborhood they built right by canal is fricked as well.

Going to st George now

In a lower lying area of lafayette proper (just off kaliste) I have about 1 inch before I take water. Lowesest lying point in my neighborhood and I can see the water flowing down to me.

Anyone have updates on Laplace area? I know it hasn't been as hard hit with rain, but I know the area has flood issues

Yesterday morning when I left for work the water was up passed the sidewalk. I was concerned with a newborn at home. When I came back around lunchtime there was no water in the street at all.

Inlaws live in Belle Terre and didn't mention any issues this morning when we talked to them.

My wife's sister is having a baby in North LA Monday and she wants to be there. We live in Prairieville. Is there a window she can make it to Opelouses, then up to Alexandria, then 167 to Ruston today? I don't know much about all these rivers down here, don't want to get caught in the flood with little kids who can barely swim.

Please don't do this. If your wife was the one having the baby, sure. But not a good enough reason.

Good luck. Is it even worth it to try to find sandbags right now? I figure I would need a truck load of them to completely surround the house anyway.

Not sure about Morgan, but I heard it was closed by Le Triomphe.
