Katrina was mine. Almost a week and a half without power before I could get to my apartment. No damage to the apartment, just that unholy smell. It seriously smelled like someone died in there. I ended up moving shortly thereafter and just left everything in the apartment because it all had the faint smell of week old corpse.

I did not get my deposit back.

Looking down from Highland onto Bayou Fountain near Sammy's.

Not urgent info, but pictures always help.

Visibly dropping now. First time I've seen grass on the other size.

Does anyone have any hints as to what to cover your face and nose with--like a surgical mask with a piece of incense in it or something to keep from having to smell the inside of my dad's apartment which reportedly smells like hell right now..

I live in University Villas on the opposite side (on the retention pond). Retention pond is going waaay down.

Don't understand how any of the flow works because we started going down Sunday which is when there was still a threat according to the non functioning Bayou Manchac gauge. Also, curious to if the flood plain status of the neighborhood is different from what's shown on that filing which is from around 2008.

The Amite at Manchac Point gauge appears to be working again. 17.1 feet at 12:36 today. Higher than the estimated level.

Yeah an entire lane was washed out in places, if not more, so I doubt it is open.

I-10 is open. Some of the hospital staff in N.O. drove in from B.R. this morning, and are heading back the same way now.

Good, just got a call and I have to go to New Orleans in the morning.
