You gotta respect that Manchac Ocean. It's really large.

And gumbeaux, until new Orleans gets hit (which won't happen) no one out of EBR will know the magnitude of this even. No national coverage whatsoever

FWIW
New River upstream of the cut under Cornerview to Bayou Francois is flowing down and below that cut is flowing up so it's definitely dumping into Bayou Francois
For those of you around 73 and Cornerview that should be interesting

Street Beat is sipping on Gin and Juice in that tumbler to keep him from going cray. All she knows how to do is read a teleprompter. She can't shoot the shite with the regular folks like Street Beat can. They need to put in Cheryl Mercedes or Miss American Lauren W. I would much rather see that talent than Maw Maw.

is this enough to push her out or is she there until she decides she is retiring?

You are exactly the person I am praying for and thinking of. Godspeed to you. Hopefully you can share your lessons learned with your neighbors as well.

If her ratings are good, they will keep her. If not - prolly keep her or give her a nice retirement pkg.

I have been keeping a close watch on the situation in the Baton Rouge area and I also know that the Laffy area was hit hard too. But all my family lives in Lake Charles and there has not been any problems over there. Cameron, Jeff Davis, and Allen parishes all border Calcasieu parish so that is why I was wondering why the state offices were closed in those parishes.

Bayou Francois
Bayou Francis by cornerview and 44 has been flowing the correct direction all week. I have been wondering why it has still been rising. I live right by the Gonzales health-care plaza they are evacuating.. I'm very nervous now.....

My hood has been very quiet past 20-30 mins so i guess they are done dropping the sandbags. It has been constant all morning. Anyone know if they actually evacuated the women's prison? Going to check the flow at Manchac before BF and AB in a few minutes.
Posted on 8/16/16 at 4:34 pm to FoTigerapher
There were probably 10 busses staged across from the women's prison at 3PM.

My take on that evacuation is better safe than sorry. Didn't they throw some nursing home managers in jail after Katrina? I think they have to submit evacuation plans every year now because of that and this is probably part of their operations manual. Just guessing and hoping they don't know something we don't.

How does one determine 'her' ratings?

I'm sure I'll get to meet you as I'll be spending lots of time at my parents' home in the coming months.
Did you get to evacuate somewhere close by? I don't remember if we discussed this yesterday.

How's it going guys? I was going to head up tonight but I saw they closed I12 so I don't know what's up. That plus the curfew means I'm not coming back. How did the bayous handle the rain that just blew through?
