Shouldn't have spent your free time on Money Talk bragging about the equity increase in your home since it didn't flood.

Exactly... Now that it has stalled, I am worried big time. I am about to start making preparations now.
Something tells me this won't become a major problem till tomorrow morning or a little later. Especially since they had to shut down the Marvin Braud pump station.
Good luck to all of you!!

Sounds like its coming from the horse pasture from what she was saying so you may be OK living on Highland. My sister lives on highland so I'm going to try and reach her and see if I can find out anything for you.

Nah, he would rather just posted dated pictures and press releases....
He is infamous in these disaster threads for that kind of stuff. No fact checking whatsoever. By and large it is speculation and old pictures that he puts out as legitimate information, and he ONLY puts out information that is alarmist. People who think things are improving take a bake seat in his "updates."

Weather Channel just reported 76% of homes lost in Livingston Parish
What does "lost" mean?
Got water?
Flooded to roof?
House swept off foundation?
The devastation in Livingston is going to rival St Bernard parish - which is amazing considering how many St Bernardians moved to Livingston.
St. Bernard took a decade to truly recover, and still, are only about 2/3 back.
Godspeed to the people in Livingston.

In-laws are on Dutchtown Villa eh about 2/3rds of the way between 74 and that cross street, on the left going down. Also have a friend across street from them.
Both inlaws and friend (with a young child) left this morning and headed our way.
FIL was worried about street flooding and being cut off but he did not seem worried about his house. Should he be?

Goudine isn't a likely candidate when it was at 11.5 feet Saturday morning while the surrounding waterways were much lower.
That makes a lot of sense....both theoretically and with what I've witnessed thanks

She lives about two houses down from the connecting street on the outside (near the horse pastures). Told me water was rising near the back of their house.
As in, water in their back yard, or still in the pasture?
Friend lives probably a few houses from them. Same side.

They are freaking out because the NWS just added them to the flood warning area.

No rise yet but stalled. Anyone have eyes on it?
Been checking it by Duplessis Primary a couple times a day. It's lower than it has been since before this all started.

The south end of the parish will never be what it was before Katrina. Same with Plaquemines.

He's a terrible speaker. You got one job to do during a crisis and that is communicate. Posting on the internet is not it Kenny.
