i'm assuming media shite
They are notorious for doing stuff for the media and not letting anyone else help. This left a lot of areas completely understaffed and a lot that could've been done was not done. Was a really bad problem during super storm sandy, Isaac, Haiti, Katrina (I was only offered a meal twice the entire time; never spoke with them other than that).
They basically exist to sell blood, and disasters are a marketing tool for them

I keep seeing posts on FB asking for any medical personnel(nurses, etc) able to help out to volunteer there.

Fellowship church on 73 in Prairieville is, as well. They're also collecting and handing out supplies (bottled water, clothing, blankets; etc.)

I wish the gov would've designed a flood map that updated itself every 15 or 30 minutes with red, green, and yellow colors marking either going up, going down, or doing nothing. Would've helped so much

Should I have any problems traveling down Burbank towards the Bluebonnet Walmart coming from the direction of LSU?

can't imagine sitting in one of these places and hear them turn people away who are trying to help.

not sure if you have any issues it would be by lakeside daqs but i think you would be alright. I am not sure of the situation down by LSU around the walkons area though
I was there an hour ago. They still have some stuff but a lot picked dry

Does anyone know if Florida Blvd near Flannery is open by any chance?

It is disasters like this that bring out the good in a lot of people.
It is a damn shame that neighbors cannot help neighbors because of liability issues. If serving food cooked by others is a liability issue, I am surprised they are letting the Cajun Navy transport people in their boats.
This would not be a problem back in the day.

You would have to have a pretty significant real time system to do that. Could be done, but it would take money, and we don't like to pay taxes in Louisiana.

actually someone like google, FB, twitter or a private company that could aggregate info from their sites could create a somewhat accurate representation on where flooding was occurring by fb posts, tweets, google info through geolocation. Again, it wouldnt but SUPER accurate but it could give a general idea.
