Baytiger: currently on 74 between 73 and airline...no rising water but I don't think we are out of the woods yet.

I would just work from home. All of BR and Ascension/Livingston will be a complete clusterfrick at least until the water recedes.

I feel like it's closing in on me. Everywhere around me but not on top of me yet.

Update on the bayou at east Tiffani and Purpera..still coming up..about 4 inches in the last 3 hours and is to the last red spray painted line on the ground..starting to put water into the ditches in pecan grove..not much but you can tell it's rising..

On a side note..saw several crawfish and good size bream in there..it usually only has about half a foot of water in there...

Work from home no question. It's still an active situation in BR and the surrounding parishes.

I hate to sound insensitive and almost feel dirty asking... but does it seem that I-10 should be open all the way to NOLA by Friday?

I need to get there for this weekend... TIA

The people that post that are hobbyists, no different than supernovasky in this thread. The difference is that we're on TigerDroppings, so while people appreciate what supernovasky is posting, we know it is not done in any kind of official capacity.

When you do it under the guise of Gulf Coast Weather, you instantly add credibility when none really exists. They piece together media reports and official statements and word it in such a way to fit their alarmist agenda. The mayor of Sorrento's comments about the city expecting another 3-4 feet of water is a perfect example. Sorrento is flooded as frick right now, and if they really thought another 3-4 feet was imminent, there wouldn't be a "voluntary" evacuation order.

What's the status of Manchac over I-10? DOTD says it can't load that camera for me. Catching up after being on a flight for a few hours.

I haven't lived in Ascension Parish since I was a kid, so I didn't know that was actually a place. I'm glad I googled it because I thought you were being a dick

My in laws and my wife's best friend live on dutchtown villa a couple of blocks past harvest going down 74. Any thoughts on what they might be in for? Their houses are fairly up compared to the street but the street has always seemed low to me.

In laws ain't concerned... Wife's friend is freaking out.
