Bayou fountain down .01! Not much but at least it's headed in the right direction!

It's a guessing game really. My house is hardly low relative the area. Built after 83 above that flood line, but our location is about as bad as you could get.

Some people complained when Spanish Lake was drained years ago. Just think how this would have gone down if it wasn't able to act as a buffer...

Sorry to hear that. I grew up in that neighborhood, and still have some friends who live there

I misread it the first time. It is about 6 inches per hour. I was going by these readings:

|Date(UTC)| |Stage|
08/16 01:30 10.24ft
08/16 01:00 10.04ft
08/16 00:30 9.84ft
08/16 00:00 9.59ft
08/15 23:30 9.29ft

I'm interested to see the inside. I don't think she got much stuff up. Her and my sister had to rush out because they have low vehicles

Guess I'll ask again I this thread. Seems like my thread got looked over or I messed up by curiously mentioning St George in a way that didn't come across just right on this board at this time. Any who...

Trying to find out some info on a loved ones house.

quote:

How did the neighborhood make out? between highland park and Perkins, between Siegen the west boundary and Pecue the east boundary. Looks like there may be a drainage ditch running west to east through the exact center of the neighborhood parallel to bayou fountain.

specifically North of the ditch running through the middle of the neighborhood, and closer to Siegen lane....
thank you guys, y'all have been amazing helping people get info

But how do we go from normal level to at the banks capacity with no rain? That is an extremely large amount of water.

It is, but if/when the Amite River is @ 12-14 feet, waterways that flow into it are going to fill up if they're below those levels. That is how back flooding works.

55 is good between Jackson and Hammond. My brother drove down this evening and is on his way back to Jackistan.
