Hard to believe anyone will stay dry if we get 10-15 more inches.
I see greens burg is getting hammered again. All that flows down here to Amite

Me too...I'm in an area of Denham where I never thought I would see water in my house

Would you recommend getting sandbags if you are in the Lake at White Oak/Shenandoah area? It's not particularly close to any of the creeks or little lakes.

Fire stations usually have them or can tell you where to go

Find out if your area flooded in 83. If it was close, then yes get sandbags.

looks like some houses in driftwood were worse than others.
Raining hard like last night again.
I expect the morning to be rough

Thank you. Unfortunately, I will likely not be able to get to any of those places.

maybe call one of those locations or your public works department to see if there are any other locations.

What is scary is that we never got the break they were calling for. It has not stopped raining for even one second at our house.
This is what I'm worried about. So far my area in mid city has been okay from what I could tell (went to Albertsons off Government this morning and government was okay). Was hoping the rain would let up for at least a few hours this evening. Looking at the radar now and nope, another wave started and the rain has gotten heavier again

Same in old Jefferson. Hasn't stopped at all since at least 5pm

Still signs of amazing inflow and outflow at the different levels. Watch that speck of cooling cloud tops near Centreville, MS for expansion or other new convection in that area over the next few hours.

There are two fire stations I'll be able to try in the morning. Thanks for the help
Posted on 8/13/16 at 12:20 am to ell_13
Almost every fire station has had sand dumped on their lots with shovels and empty bags
What part of town are you in?
