Goddamn, airline is flooded

Manchac still rising. At this rate it may cover up a large swath of interstate.

Burbank is closed at Highland. Water is across Highland between Burbank and Highland Road Park.

What does that mean for the Jones Creek/Old Hammond area? Your posts have been extremely helpful. Thank you. I actually expect that area to begin receding.
You think Oneal/Old Hammond area starts to recede any soon?

That's good to hear LSU alum. My parents live in Park Forrest and had to be rescued by boat yesterday.
They tried to go back this morning and we're told nobody is allowed in until Tuesday at the earliest.

The Great Flood of 2016: Backflow Flooding Occuring (8/14/16)
Burbank is closed at Highland. Water is across Highland between Burbank and Highland Road Park.
That's significant and relatively new. That means that water is backflowing in the area.
Here is a map:
The blue X is where we see the interstate flooding and waters rising, that is Bayou Manchac.
The red X is where Highland meets Burbank and where it is overflowing into the diagonal dashed lines area, which will hold a bit of water.
The red arrows show the direction of backflow. Bluebonnet and Highland/Burbank next.

Do you think the waters in highland club are done rising?
Posted on 8/14/16 at 6:37 pm to supernovasky
I know you may have explained this and I apologize if so. But you keep posting about the rate of rising water over I_10 at Manchac. Obviously this is bad, but what areas do you think it will be worst for? Thank You

My dad spent most of the day removing the carpet.
No wasted time for him. By the time I can get there, he will have most of the hard work done and he just turned 70.
