You think Oneal/Old Hammond area starts to recede any soon?
WBRZ just had a boat ride down o'neal to old Hammond intersection. ..water was already down 2-4 ft.
it was almost to roof originally

The Amite is not at it's highest point yet, and the Manchac is clearly still rising
Are you sure about that? I could swear they said it (Amite) had crested earlier and was down a bit from its peak.

Well I have a feeling that while Bayou Fountain may rise at Bluebonnet and Burbank that it will not cause major problems for my neighborhood. That means nothing for anyone else but I don't see it going up enough to cause major problems. I hope I am right.

I second this. He has been the MVP of this thread.

It has crested at Denham.
It has not crested at Manchac Point. As long as it is going up at Manchac Point, all areas upstream of Manchac Point are going to see rises.

I live in the area so it isn't entirely selfless!

I actually expect that area to begin receding.
Thank you! We've been following your posts since last night. Your advice helped us leave the area before we were trapped. We greatly appreciate your help.

The flood waters and thus the crest moves downstream, and impacts (back flows) into different tributaries. It may be falling in Central where it created yesterday but will rise downstream at Manchac and French Settlement.
It's passing claycut and jones creek today and causing flooding along their watersheds.
Wards creek, Dawson, Fountain, and everything else that dumps into Manchac will be impacted tonight and tomorrow as the Amite crests at Manchac.

I'm so glad you left. Did things actually rise there?

Colyell and French settlement is for sure under water unless the house is built up.
