I still can't get over the fact that the 100-yr WSELs all over Baton Rouge are based off of these smaller watersheds and not the Amite.
Wait...you are saying that these 100 year flood maps don't match the 100 year flood level from the very river they drain into?
That's not good in this scenario if true. That could be very bad actually.

Perkins same side as Pennignton near Maxwells

Scanner just said they're moving in to close Millerville @Avalon/Breton because of high water coming over the roadway now.

My elevation says 41.9 feet. Does that sound right? Hope so, makes me feel better.

Depends on where you live. Some homes in the higher parts of Shenandoah are at around 40 ft.

I should clarify. It looks like the only watersheds that don't take into account the Amite are the ones that drain into Bayou Manchac (Ward's Creek, Fountains). Clay Cut Bayou, Jones Creek, and the tributaries north of there do.

Near Dawson Creek near that school? If so, you should probably be worried. Closer to Perkins you might be okay.

Anyone in the Jones Creek watershed should be on high alert right now!
Please report if you are in this area.
It is likely significant backwater flooding is moving in.

I was much less nervous about this event before involving myself in this thread.

I'm terrible with these maps. Family is in Prairieville about 2 miles from Santa Maria and I have no idea if that is good or bad.
They're by Tommy's Fish House wherever the hell that is. I've asked for the address 200 times and gotten only general descriptions.

Do you have a prediction for Jefferson hwy between Highland and Antioch?

It's all based on your nearest tributaries and their levels. While the amite is a huge factor the reading closer to you will be more accurate.

Millerville north of Avalon towards Old Hammond is in a flood plain.
The back flow problems are moving south quickly.

This thread is starting to scare me and I've been the biggest Shenandoah Baghdad Bob-er in here today.
I'm going to go check out the area around Kabobs right now.

I heard Three Lakes near there was evacuating. You sure about Pleasant Ridge? My parents live back there but are out of town right now.

This is exactly in the area I just pointed out for backwater flooding! Jones Creek area take heed, it is rising fast!

Jefferson is pretty high ground there according to the elevation maps. You get into flood zones a few hundred yards away from Jefferson on each side in that area though. How close to Jefferson are you?
