Metairie, Kenner, and NOLA haven't seen a drop of rain. If my parents weren't stuck in Watson, it'd have done Red Dress Run.

My dad still has a house in Monticello and if the water rises one more foot, he starts taking in water.

The FEMA flood maps for the tributary bayous (Ward, Fountain, etc.) were studied for an event on those respective watersheds. The base flood elevations are not mapped for backwater from the Amite.

Add in the fact that the crest of the Amite at Manchac will smash the previous record, and it's anyone's guess as to how the tributaries will react to the backwater. We can look at elevations and guess, but unless a similar scenario has been modeled, I just don't think we can be sure how fast, how far, and for how long the water will move back up these bayous. Perhaps somebody out there has done a model for the Parish - it would be nice to know.

Idk. I'm new to this area. Just moved here in March. Are we in danger of any back flow? I wouldn't think so, but idk.

As far as I know, we aren't in any danger. No warterways close enough.

Water is creeping into Green Trails from tiger bend.

This is consistent with a rising flow on Clay Cut, which will see flooding before anything upstream of Manchac Point. Watch the direction of flow if you can - see if it is bubbling from out of the storm drains in particular.

Gotcha, my parents live over there and are out of town, hate that they could not do anything to prepare.

Probably not the answer you wanted, but my guess would the closer you are to that gauge (Amite at Manchac Point), the closer your peak will be to 21.5 (unless of course the crest forecast changes). The further away you get, the more variables there are, and that's where a model/study would be nice.

Off of K Saloom between Amb Caff and East Broussard.

Had a safe spot to go to in Milton, but all access to Milton has long since been cut off, so we went elsewhere. We are good now, thankfully.
