The Great Ape may have originated in Europe, not Africa as previously thought

They have found a pair of canine teeth attributed to the Great Ape in the proto-Rhine Valley in Germany. They date back 9.7 million years, much older than the Great Ape canines they have found in Africa to date (roughly 5-6 million years old).

Perhaps it was carried there by an African swallow? Or its evolutionary predecessor?

Cheetahs originated in North America and went the other way across the land bridge. Earliest cheetah predecessor bones found in West Virginia. It's why N.American antelope run 20mph faster than their nearest apex predator.
