Contestants are asked to catch the critters caught mostly with hands, and that any use of "traps, bait, explosives, chemicals, smoke and motorized tools is prohibited.

And that kind of mentality is how the python came to be a problem.
Yep. They're a huge nuisance, but the dipshit animal rights idiots want it to be "humane."

Other than killing them, what do they think they're going to do with these snakes? They're a hybrid species that has no place anywhere in the world.

I guess I'm out because any python that I happen to run into in the Everglades is getting the business end of a flamethrowing chainsaw.

Not a good idea. I killed a large snake with a chainsaw. The blade sucked him up and threw him in my lap. I shite my drawers.

Forget the restrictions, just kill them all, by any means.

I watched a show about this not long ago. They catch way fewer snakes than I expected

The actual purpose of the publicized hunt is not to remove large quantities of snakes. They understand that it's not possible with hunters. The snakes are so good at hiding seeing them is nearly impossible.

The purpose of the hunt is to raise awareness about invasive species.

I think the first hunt a couple of years ago had over 1000 hunters and fewer than 70 snakes killed or captured.

I've always dreamed of catching pythons on Florida - just don't know the territory.

This sounds kind of fun, but there is no way I'd do this without a minigun.

The last time I was at my families place in Florida, I about stepped on an approximately 8 foot snake. I'm heading that way tomorrow. I'm bringing guns this time.
