He always replied that it was public record, blah blah.
Speaking in general terms a la "I've seen crazy stuff like this" would be one thing.
Geauxjudge gave identifying details about several cases and named names in the Theron business.

In the geauxjudge case, yes. In my case of two barney fife looking mother frickers harassing me, no.

One of you lawyers answer this. Is he permanently disbarred? Can he do some sort of probation and be reinstated at a later date?

Right. I remember there being details about family law cases that he was stupid to share. Wasn't general at all.

don't know. only Arky lawyers could tell you for sure
i don't see how he can avoid losing that. judge's have different rules though. he may just lose his ability to be judge and still has his license...but a conviction? a felony? for dishonesty? can't imagine he'd avoid disbarment...but that's a question for the Arkansas Supreme Court and not SFP

So he was slimy then and he's slimy now? Shocker.

I know a former PI attorney who got disbarred, did some time, and lost his license. He is a landman now. That's a job where the legal skills would translate.

Former Judge Maggio's daughter played golf two years at LSU ('10-'11) and then defected to Texas A&M for her final two years of eligibility ('12-'13).
She's now an assistant golf coach at FSU.

Here's a blog post summing up the bribery stuff: LINK
This was posted before he was ever arrested. I think Blue Hog Report is the blog that broke the bribery story.
The blog IS the place that identified Mike Maggio as "geauxjudge". You can see that here: LINK
So I think was happened is that an LSU fan saw Maggio's OT posts where he was disclosing confidential details of some of his cases, asked the Matt Campbell (the writer of Blue Hog Report) to look into it, and Campbell identified him. Once he was identified and was obviously conducting himself in a way unbefitting of a judge, Campbell began looking into his campaign finances and found evidence of impropriety.

Damn! He also seemed like a decent enough guy on here, I never would have guessed he was such a crook.

His courtroom experiences solidified his views on traditional gender roles (to paraphrase: if you want a happy home, the woman needs to be taking care of her man in the kitchen and in the bedroom).
He's right about that.
Not to say that women are reduced to those two functions only. No way, no how.
Families who sit down and have a family meal together on a regular basis, and couples who have healthy sex lives, all strengthen the family unit. That should never be taken for granted.
Geauxjudge's detractors called his views sexist. :smh:

This is what I thought. Maybe we will find out.

But seriously as a relatively younger guy, it is pretty much inconceivable for me to imagine spending all that time, work, and money just to go through school and then the even longer years building a career into a fairly prominent position in your field, and now it's all pretty much worthless. You can't work in the field anymore, and anywhere they have heard of you, you aren't respected. It's crazy to think abou
Well consider this--remember that Nola lawyer who was caught jizzing on his coworkers keyboard (maybe it was her chair or something)? He opened up a solo practice after getting fired. He didn't even leave the city. I don't know how he can come back from that, but he is trying to.

I did like a lot of his views on gender roles and his thoughts on a group of certain people who commit a disproportionate amount of crimes. If he wasn't for sale, and also didn't blab on the internet about confidential proceedings, he would have been a fine judge.

Just read the blog post from March 11 2014. Wow. Maggio is a true POS.

He posted worse stuff than just that. The one I remember being quoted was that women only care about two things: the bulge in the front of the pants and the bulge in the back pocket. Dick and wallet.
