I am assuming there is a income limit in order to be eligible for the FEMA assistance? If so anyone know what it is?

TIA

Tag along question: Is anyone hearing from FEMA that you have to file a claim with your HO policy under Loss of Use before being able to get funds from FEMA for hotel reimbursement?

I still don't really know how to apply. It said you had to apply for general assistance first, which i did and got rejected.

Is that the end of the line? Is there a second application for generator/chainsaw specifically? If so, i didn't see anything.

Maybe I'm completely missing it.

I guess I’m an idiot for buying mine a year ago well in advance.

For Laura I called them and they said I had to do an appeal asking specifically for generator reimbursement.

If they would have told me right then that you had to have a medical reason to get the reimbursement it would have saved me a lot of wasted time

Do they give welfare to people to reward them for having generators and chainsaws to take of themselves before the storm or is the money only for those that waited to get such things till after the storm?

What if I bought the generator and chainsaw through my company, but I own the company.....can I still get reimbursed?

I already got denied once....not sure if I can reapply or file an appeal and if it would even matter

If you have an eligible medical reason for the generator I don't see why you would need to let them know anything about your company....all they need is your doctor's note letting them know why you need electricity for medical purposes and the receipt for the generator.

Yea right. I already had a generator and chainsaw, and got on my slippery roof myself to cut the big arse limbs off the house so I could patch the holes in the roof with materials I had laying around. I cannot wait to attempt to get fair reimbursement for that from anybody. frick me for doing the right thing.

It is possible that had you gotten a quote to cut the trees off your roof your insurance may have paid your for that....I've seen it go both ways.

I don't know what the eligibility for chain saws is. All I know is what I was told personally for generators by a FEMA agent.

You go to the upside down arrow top middle of screen

You’ll have several options pop up

Select upload (not upload history)

Check box at bottom of screen hit next

Then select other misc from 1st drop down me menu

Select other misc/receipt from second drop down menu

Hit the upload button, choose photo to upload, then wait till it uploads

That’s it you are done.

You can then select upload history to see what photos you’ve uploaded
