same here...I do it at night when in hotels, because it is not blocked by my company. I have never so much as signed on during working hours, though.

The agents should be arrested for possession and distribution of child pornography

I don't know man. I think its dumb for cops to have prostitution stings. Prostitution will always be around and if someone wants to pay a little money to someone to get them off then who cares? But child porn is another thing.
Setting up a child porn site is not good and I doubt the people who had to set it up, enjoyed doing it, but I think they have to try to catch as many of these sick fricks as possible.

No, cops don't create these dealios, their Leaders do
Chiefs/Mayors/FBI/CIA etc
Cops follow orders, they just don't go out and create scenarios to get people. And majority hate to write tickets.

Nobody ever has? Or was anyone ever bothered or paid a visit to by police, to clear up the situation? Which would be bad enough.

With today's technology they should be able to create fake child porn that does not involve real children.
Posted on 1/22/17 at 7:22 pm to Bourre
Same as undercover cops selling drugs. If he opened the website and saw what it was then closed it real quick that's one thing. But if he frequented it he knew what he was doing

I don't know how I feel about this situation. These sick predators need to be caught but I don't think the FBI should be distributing child porn while children are still in harms way. Thoughts?
There are plenty of ways that the FBI can catch child porn users without being involved with its distribution. There is no justification for this in my mind.

Well, then how could they make a case stick if it's not child porn?

Cops who are christians that have to watch child pornography during their jobs are going to hell.

Couldnt agree more. Nobody is defending those looking at child porn because they are sick people but this is not an appropriate way to conduct justice in this country.

I don't know the particulars of this case, but they usually don't get these guys for the porn they get from the govt, they get them for the massive collection they've already acquired. Downloading from the government simply leads them to your door.

And/or tracking them distribute it to others

I'm very conflicted over this one.
On the one hand I'm glad these perverts are being dealt with. And not for the FBI site, they'd have been going to another site just like it. Only difference is they'd get away with it over and over.
But on the other hand, as others have pointed out, it is disturbing to see (1) the government in the kiddie porn business and (2) enticing people to to break the law.

Only the FBI could be so unlikable while putting away dangerous criminals.

The FBI was using material that was already there. It's not like they produced it. Besides, frick pedophiles. I don't give a shite how victimized they feel.
Posted on 1/22/17 at 7:44 pm to Bourre
What the FBI actually did in this case is they used a warrant to seize the server hosting The Playpen site and used the software — referred to as a “Network Investigative Tool,” or NIT — to obtain identifying information from people who logged into it.
They basically used the existing website as a confidential informant to lead them to individuals guilty of heinous criminal activity.
Just as with many criminal investigations, they don't immediately shut down all criminal activity once they get in. They infiltrate and observe.
I do not have a problem with this.

Sounds like another case of the Feds being above the law. Obviously child pornography is a problem and these scumbags need to be locked up....
On the other hand, it's ok for the FBI to distribute and look at child porn, but arrest predators for doing the same thing?
