I’m extremely sensitive when receiving email promotions during/around Cinco De Mayo and MLK Day. Please be considerate.

Nah thats a pretty standard approach/email for businesses because for those who have miscarried or struggle with fertility, Mothers Day can be potentially upsetting.
It’s narcissistic chick-think with a side of virtue signaling.
First of all, if someone has “trauma” about the fact that humans have mothers and want to celebrate them, all because they “lost their mother”, they need CBT therapy, which would include MORE exposure to all things “mother”, not less.
Secondly, please show me a person who is traumatized by the very mention of Mother’s Day, who isn’t a full-blown narcissist looking for attention.
Thirdly, it’s not our job to bubble wrap the world for every conceivable trauma response. It makes us weaker, and it takes away valuable human thought and energy for other worthwhile problems that need solving.

Ehh I kinda get it. I lost my lady, to cancer, will be 6 years ago on Mother’s Day and it’s still hard as hell for the kids
That’s rough brother and I’m sorry to hear that. But bless you for doing what you have to for the kids. That has to be one of the hardest things in the world to go through. I’m sure she’s beyond proud looking down on yall.

Sorry.
But no, you don't kinda get it, government shouldn't be compelling or preventing speech to avoid offending people. This milquetoast thinking is why they're considering restricting dogs outside the home because they offend you know who, and sending people to jail for tweets.

I don't know if they're running the ads still, or if they ever ran them in Merseyside, but I saw them on buses in Leeds.
"If you drink animal milk, you're stealing from a baby."
This was 2018 or 2019.

Not pissed at all.
Simply posted because it’s virtue signaling to an uptenth degree, and was curious as to what other holidays would be considered “sensitive”.

My mother died eight days before Mother's Day 2024. My SO died a few weeks before Valentine's day 2025. It's not that the advertising is traumatic, but it is a reminder. Given the choice, I would opt out

Thanks man. Im mostly over the shock but I struggle daily with finding a reason to keep going. I never bought a ticket for this ride and it will be a relief when it ends.

You need to send out an email. "If you are too sensitive to receive emails that might offend you then we don't want you coming in."

Some of yall know we have a Cajun restaurant in Liverpool, and it’s going well.
We like to scope out our competition, and subscribe and dine at their places.
Mother’s Day over there is March 15th. Today, I got this email from Hickory’s, an incredibly subpar “American” BBQ chain:
quote:
We know that Mother's Day & other dates throughout the year that can be tough for some. If you'd rather not receive emails about Mother's Day, or any other sensitive dates, just let us know by opting out below.
We'll still keep you up to date with everything else BBQ.
With love, the Hickory's team.
Wondering what other sensitive dates would include?
Veterans Day?
Valentine’s Day?
MLK?
Well aren't you a big dick swinger, calling out that shite.

They’re the ones who sent the email.
If anything, I’m helping them.

How about Independence Day
I work with a bunch of Brits. When I was over last summer, holidays came up and I asked how they teach the Revolution and War of Independence in grade school. They said “our schools just kind of skip those years of history.”

I stopped there…..was relating to a private business offering customers an option but I’ll assume whatever you said was compelling

Delete this thread. Some a-hole is going to screenshot this crap and combine it with info from your other threads and try to ruin your business.
