You making way to many assumptions.
$9 (entry fee)x 3 (spectators) = $27 x 2(days) $=54 × 9 (players min per team) = $486. Most teams have 11-12 kids

The only long term successful parks are municipal owned....the private ones end up going bankrupt two or 3 times till someone buys at low dollar

This is excellent and can't be stated enough. There are a lot of jealous and joking threads about select baseball but the real racket is girls' dance and it's not even close !
I don't know the numbers involved, but a friend of mine has his daughter involved with the cheaper choice of dance group in the BR area, he chose the one out of Denham Springs of all places, and it's still absolutely outrageous.
Cheerforce is the elite one, from what I understand and it has to be astronomical.
(I may be completely wrong about Cheerforce being the best, but it's just what i pick up from knowing moms and seeing things on FB.)

Isn't there a rule about starting threads with anything that pops in your head.

PJ, I thought you were supposed to die like 3 weeks ago?

This is why I started the thread. I don't know all the ins and outs. Someone brought to my attention that you don't have to pay for each game. So if there are 2 or 3 games in one day, they are only paying $9. I factored in the entry fee for each game, which isn't accurate on my end.

This isn't about dancing, but it is about softball travel teams.
I was having the travel ball conversation with someone else awhile back. The person I was talking to was telling me about this guy he works with who is ate up with his daughter and travel ball.
But this is what gets me. Evidently this guy's little girl didn't make a team and he was pissed off because his daughter wanted to play.. So him and another dad, whose daughter didn't make it, decided they were going to start their own travel team. The dude was mad for weeks his daughter didn't make it.
Then once he put a team together he started talking about how there was one kid they tried out, but they are going to cut them....
So he was pissed off because his daughter didn't make a team, complained about it.. Started his own team then complained because someone thought their daughter was better than what she was and he was going to cut her.
What happened to playing baseball over the summer for the local park and then when you get to HS, those who really wanted to play more would play in HS?

As a coach, I can tell you it's a good chunk of change. It's all worth it for the pussy I pull when I'm coaching third base in full uniform.

Competitive soccer seems cheaper. $5-10 to park for the weekend. Beyond the fee the team pays to enter, that's it.

baseball is the easiest sport for kids to play.
Ehh, soccer is. You just kick any round object.
It is the easiest sport to play, the hardest to play well.

Nobody plays travel ball that doesn’t want to.
It’s expensive and time consuming.
And yes it pisses me off the amount some try to charge at gate, luckily I coach so I don’t pay.

Soccer only gets bad as the kids get better. My son plays on a regional team and travel is pretty intense. At most we’re 7-8 hour drive. Select/Club was 2-3, but you can do that Sat morning if you don’t get the shite draw.
Entry fee is the least of the expenses.

Nobody as in the kid or the parent? I say this because it seems like there are some parents who take it a lot more serious than their kids do. And that maybe their kids are playing because they almost feel like they have to because their parents have an expectation of them to do so.. And its not always for the right reasons.
Maybe the parents friends has kids who play and so they feel like their kid must play in order for them to "keep up" with what their friends are doing..

Other question - what ARE the politics of dancing?
and how do they intersect with the politics of feeling good?

Yes, lots of money, but you get it all back once he turns pro!

Doesn’t matter what the cost. I’m gonna give little Easton the best chance of walking on for the local community college team tee.

For ballet, assuming your little one isn't ok just being a tree in the back.... Lessons, costumes, extra studio time, and sponsoring a pro ballerina in the parent company or other fundraisers. And there's no guarantees she gets to be a Clara in the nutcracker or some such.
Depending on the city, you're talking 5 grand easy per season.

Those if you complaining about travel ball would be mega rustled over dance or gymnastics.
