They act like this is something new. We have had boiled crawfish in Lafayette for almost a month.

Bro just eat a couple, don't go crazy at first. Worst case scenario is someone will let you borrow an epipen. You can't just not eat them cause of what some quack doctor said. Just try a few.

I see more places with crawfish in my little area of Houston than I did when in b.r.

The reason crawfish prices are so high in S. La. now is because so many of them are being shipped to Houston and surrounding area. The good stuff goes there now, and the dregs come here, with high prices.

Thanks Houston.

Hey Bigberg, I think from your previous posts you live in NE Hou, do you have any go to places to pick up boiled crawfish?

Honestly I mostly boil them myself. I had them at mojos and zydeclaws. Both places had seasoning on the outside but the boil was also seasoned so it wasnt the worst thing. At the little shacks like zydeclaws its byob so thats a plus. Yellowfin on here does some business with this place called "that one place" and he said I should try them out so I will in a couple of months.

It's so hot now, they are all crawling out. Then a cold front will come and they won't be able to crawl back in, so they will all die and prices will skyrocket.

And the Houston people will pay whatever price for them. $8.99 per pound, no problem.

It's pretty good. They do a ton of business and have some kind of ties back to BR for supplies. Crawfish are always big, and like you said, boiled but with some sprinkle after. I know there's one near Cypress.

Last time I ate them there, they were like $9.49/pound? 2 people, each got like a platter and a half, and a couple of beers, and it was like $150.00.

When we lived in Katy, we used to get them live from Good Ole Boys near Katy HS. We would also occasionally get them boiled there. Also, there was place, I think called "French Quarter", on 6 near 529 - in the Copperfield area, across from the Target. They were the only two places I could find that actually would properly season the water, instead of dumping the stuff on the shells.

French Quarter was especially funny because they would give out lobster bibs and latex gloves when you ordered boiled crawfish, and I'd said half the patrons used them!!!

Skinny D isn't so skinny anymore. Good thing I'm ok with that!!

He's caught some but people really have no clue how this works. Farmers are so not the ones who "set" the prices. Hoping for a decent year.
