As the parent of an older daughter and younger son, I used to think the parents of the boys got off cheap. Holy crap, was I wrong. My daughter bought her dresses on sale (well, I paid for them) and she did her own hair. Son ended up costing more after renting tux for prom.

If it’s from a local florist remember…
You hand make them which takes time, plus the cost of the flowers.

This isn’t true. You still need to buy the license. There just isn’t a test anymore. La.gov

I'd make my own for under $20. You could maybe start a new side hustle.

All this is is the marketing profession at work.

They have convinced a segment of the population that you should pay an exorbitant price for something that costs a pittance to produce.

Just paid $3.25 for a glass. of. fricking. Coke.

I mean, seriously, three & a quarter for a nozzle shot fountain drink? But yeah, that's what stuff costs now.

Typical mom. Effort is counted in dollars the parents of the boy spend. Teaching your daughters well, and they’re probably going to end up dating weed smoking video game addicts anyway.

No one is forcing you to drink a Coke. You made a choice.

Why not just get a water, or no drink at all?

Then go buy a Coke at the grocery store for a whole lot less if you really need one.

Again, you just aren't funny.

You want to be a dick to me, to hilarious effect? Go for it. Plenty have. But be funny about it.

You're about as unfunny as a leukemia ward for three legged puppies.

Actually, cancel that because even that is kind of funny.

You're like Hannah Gatsby.

Not worth a laugh

$40 is too high at BR florists for my blood for proms. Last one my son picked up was sliding all around the plastic box with no filler to protect the flowers from bruising. Effing ridiculous. He didn’t know that they packed it like shite.

I’m sure it’s beautiful but that seems really high for a corsage. My daughter had a beautiful nosegay from Red Onion and it and the very nice boutonnière together were just under $100.

Be thankful you don't have to buy a mum as they do in Texas HS for $300

Yup. I donated $100 to my girlfriend's daughter mum fund. It was nice, had lights and personal knick nacks for her interest. She doesn't ask for much and it made her smile so I consider money well spent.

I love it when poor people try to out-poor other poor people.

300 for a mum. Get bent.
