Moved to another state recently and the car washes are ridiculous. $85/month for monthly subscription. WTF?? They also charge to use their vacuums.
I miss Benny’s $15/month price from a few years ago and I really miss my days in Metairie years ago with Safari. Loved having inside of car wiped down with the wash for a reasonable charge. I’m sure the cost has skyrocketed in the last 15 years.

St. George is a day late and a dollar short. Bad people and crime have already infiltrated the area. I lived in a very nice subdivision there and now it’s surrounded in low life crime on just about every path out of my old neighborhood. Take my advice. Get out of BR.
I hate that so many businesses still use USPS for shipping. The U.S. Postal Service has toppled over the cliff.
I thought Louisiana had a three strikes law? What happened to that?
The same could be said of LSU and many college campuses.
My child’s pediatrician was from India. I asked him about the safety of a vaccine and he told me whole heartedly and respectfully that if I were to see and study the perils of non vaxxed children as he had, I would definitely choose vaccinations for my child. I chose the vaccination.
I have sort of a love/hate relationship with the original McKenzie’s king cake. On one hand, it was the only thing we knew as kids in the 60’s and 70’s in NOLA and we considered it a real treat every year. On the other hand, when more cinnamon roll style cakes came about with cream cheese filling, it took the cake to a new level of goodness.
The problem is that there are so many inferior king cakes out there now that taste bad or like chemicals with too much filling in them and it’s a pain in the azz to find a good one. Also, have become expensive.
I think maybe it’s just the nostalgia I have remembering childhood and getting that brightly colored brioche to eat. I don’t think I really miss eating king cake except for the experience. Those were times when we all weren’t walking around eating candy bars, chips and soda every day so it was a treat.

Yes with psychiatrist to prescribe medicine. Sometimes difficult to find the right medicine. It can get rough. Don’t let anyone prescribe a whole cocktail of pills!
And you should also see a counselor for talk therapy. Sometimes starts with multi visits per week to give you a push and then goes to once a week or every other week.
It’s a rough road but you’ve got to hang in there and keep pushing. And it takes time, but there will be light and hope coming for you. God Bless and Good Luck.
I get you, OP. People say these things all the time. I see it all over social media. Also lots of American culture bashing and derogatory remarks in general about living in America…by Americans.
When we cut cable about 6 years ago, we made sure we just use free tv apps and Original YT; not YT TV. It’s exactly as was predicted. Too many TV apps with different offerings and adds up to cost of cable! I break each year and get Netflix for 3 months to watch Only murders in the building. I forgot I also have Amazon prime so I get to watch a lot of things there also.
There are nice places to live where the winter weather isn’t bad.
Sweden has had trouble with middle eastern migrants for many years now. And NOW they want to try and fix this problem? Sweden let those fanatics just come in and take over their country. Happening everywhere in Europe and Great Britain. Happening here one state at a time. Do you hear that, Michigan and Minnesota?
What a fool. He really doesn’t know what year this is. Will probably be actual LSU students who won’t go for this obsolete animal abuse and stop the tiger procession.
$40 is too high at BR florists for my blood for proms. Last one my son picked up was sliding all around the plastic box with no filler to protect the flowers from bruising. Effing ridiculous. He didn’t know that they packed it like shite.
Cane’s is reliable in consistency and overall freshness without too many ingredients. That’s where the pros end. The cons are that they immediately lose crispiness once sealed into the styrofoam container, they are bland and many times that damn tendon they leave in the breast makes it chewy in spots. The fries taste like frozen fries with no flavor and also wilt in the styrofoam. Not my favorite place. I’m surprised the hype remains after all these years.
My Kenmore w and d are 30 years old and still going! But I’m moving out of state next month and will get a new set for my condo. I have done lots of research on top and front loaders. Came down between Electrolux front loaders and Speed Queen. I’m going with Speed Queen TR7 and it’s dryer. 7 year warranty and built to last 25 years! That’s insane this day and age. And if you watch the speed queen videos, you can fit a lot of clothes in that tall tub. The newest model
Electrolux front loaders have good service record, but it’s hard to find reviews that show they last for more than about 4-5 years without a major repair or failure.
Speed Queen owners say they have great working machines for many years.
I just noticed today that WBRZ online is now tagging St. George in all the news good and bad happening in the new township. Oh well!
I think he was 10. He carpooled every Monday night to LSU for orchestra practice. Sometimes it was college students from the other families taking him home from LSU and sometimes they were a little late. It was a great way for me to keep in touch with him there on the edge of Campus. Ugh.
In retrospect, I regret letting him be “by himself” after orchestra waiting in the dark outside of the music building.
I have no regrets about letting him have the phone. He was always a great kid. I loved that in high school they were not allowed to use phones at all during school time.
ETA: He told me there were a couple of times campus police asked what he was doing there at night. At least he was being watched sometimes.
America is over saturated with chain business and restaurants that our economy cannot keep pace with. Damn, the average person can’t afford to spend money each day in the sea of store and restaurant glut we have on every corner.
