re: Another poor meal at BRQ (review)
Posted by Hellp on 5/13/24 at 1:58 pm
Looking at the down votes on my post. Sorry, but the steak was like a rubber tire. Inedible. I was embarrassed for the kitchen. Also my baby back ribs were also an embarrassment to their declaration of being “award winning”. They were hard, chewy and the layer of bark on top was so overdone and dry...

I am resurrecting this thread because I just returned from my family’s first trip to BRQ. It still sucks in 2024. Not sure how and why the parking lot is packed all the time. That’s why we finally went to try it. The bbq items are sub par. Ribs are dry, pulled chicken is bland and the brisket is ok....
re: Pro-Palestine protest on LSU's campus outside Patrick F. Taylor Hall starting at noon
Posted by Hellp on 5/3/24 at 1:44 pm
It’s a place for classes and learning. Not for disrupting the 99% who are trying to make their way through to classes and learn. Look to the Ivy League schools to see the outrageous disruption there. Kowtowing to anarchy. Upside down world. ...

Idiots holding a protest at the building that holds the name of the man who made it possible for them to attend college at a major discount or for free.
College campus is no place for protests. ...
re: I never order pizza, but when did Papa John’s start Sucking arse?
Posted by Hellp on 4/25/24 at 11:01 am
Papa John’s has always been stingy on the toppings. This is America. We want to see lots of toppings on our pizza.
We tried Crust Pizza last night. Lots of toppings and good flavors. Crust is not too thick or too thin. But honestly, it’s mainly about the $$ these days. It’s was a little over $45 f...

re: To what extent would LSU be more prestigious if it were in a safer location?

The disease has spread far into once good student apartment living areas. It’s too much crime decay in BR and rapidly spreading around all parts of the city. ...

Some people don’t want to hear the truth and remain willfully ignorant about the sad state of crime in BR, the negative force it has on all of us here, neighborhoods losing value, and a horrid public education system. And the fact that LSU is a walkthrough for so much violent crime now is the straw ...
re: Some colleges will charge up to $95,000 this year...

My son is going to an out of state college in the fall. Out of state tuition is $30,000 more than in state. That’s outrageous. He was close to choosing his second choice college until two days ago when the first choice came through with scholarships that surpassed our expectations. Our cost will no...
re: Why are people so ignorant about their health?
Posted by Hellp on 2/29/24 at 12:07 pm
Insurance is nothing but a very unethical scam that is legal in this country and kept alive because of powerful overpaid lobbyists. It has nothing to do with fat people. ...
re: The city of BR needs us to weigh in about Government Street.

Those cement beds need to be ripped the eff out ASAP. They are a traffic hazard for the middle lane. They block the flow of entering the middle lane. Very dangerous one in front of Superior Grill. ...
re: Are out of state colleges worth it?
Posted by Hellp on 2/21/24 at 12:23 pm
My child is going to college in August. I cannot in good conscience send my child to LSU. The ghetto has infiltrated the campus and most of BR and I will not cede to it when it comes to my child’s future. TOPS and scholarships don’t make up for downfall of this town. ...

And yet the customer service remains a crappy as ever with low grade employees who have zero manners and zero skills for putting out a correct order. The managers must go bonkers over the amount of return items because they were made wrong or omitted items from orders. FTS!...

re: Zoning is front page news when the Country Club Of Louisiana may be “affected”.
Posted by Hellp on 10/3/23 at 10:53 pm
Come on! The stink of low rent vape shops, CBD stores and cheap massage parlors have been able to do business in most of the nice middle class neighborhoods in BR. It’s not only low class, it will lower property values and continue to bring shady criminals to our nice neighborhoods. Why doesn’t the ...
