Park all the cruisers at the station, throw their badges in their desk, shut off the lights, and head home.

I’m being sarcastic, but I doubt these protestors have thought this through. Imagine calling 911 and getting a dial tone.

They would just start blaming the hospitals for people dying from a GSW

Agreed. Let absolute fricking chaos reign for 30 days and then let's see what the left thinks about law enforcement.

No. When your politician bosses no longer allow you to do your job, quit.

Saw a clip from Philly and they had a line of cruisers being pillaged. It had me thinking they placed them there for the crowds to destroy/target their angst. Kept the rioters in one place for awhile too.

If that was the case, that was very crafty.

Imagine you at home. Needing law enforcement and getting a dial tone. Then hearing people explain to me why i don't need a gun to defend myself.

Because the best way to get the people on your side is to run the other way when it gets tough.

I have my own thoughts on the French method of dealing with adversity.

Ever been a cop? They aren't quitting but a lot of people would. I assume by your post you're in a pretty tough profession.

Starting this thread 10 days ago unprompted may have gotten some healthy dialog.

Starting today is just dumb

It's really smart on the PD's part. They can get rid of their old shitty cruisers, and if the mayor doesn't give them enough money for cars in the next budget, the chief can blame the mayor for decreased patrols.

If I ever call 911 it's because I need an ambulance or a fire truck, not because I need the cops. I really don't need them.

Considering rioters in Birmingham were getting injured last night, dialing 911, and were being told that the hospitals were not running ground services to the areas where violence was going on until further notice, they probably won't like it one bit.
They also will be incapable of putting 2 and 2 together to come to the conclusion that their actions alone have led to this.
