Getting a new phone has become a royal pain in the arse like buying a car.
I don't buy a new phone just to have phone conversations. If that were the case, I would not pay much at all.. I'd want the least expensive phone.. But I look at my iphone as a tool box. It has a flashlight, a magnify glass, you can measure with it, its where I manage my emails, I used it to manage bank accounts, I communicate using text, it is a GPS, its where I have my music.. I even play games on it every once in awhile. That's what I pay for.
I actually hate talking on the phone. I rather talk in person or text. Anytime my phone rings and I see who it is, my mind immediately goes to "whats the fastest way to get off the phone with this person?".. For the most part. There are people who I enjoy talking to, but I just don't like being on the phone for a long time. My dad used to be like this. He passed away in 1998, but growing up he never answered the phone. The only time he would answer the phone was if the phone rang and someone yelled "Daddy can you answer it? I am waiting on a phone call". If someone needed to talk to him, they would come over.
I know a lot of people depend on their phone for work.. and because of their kids and keeping up with them, but I used my phone for everything but talking on it (if I can help it)

I agree, but my gripe is that they always tell you about this plan, or that plan, and it always sounds too good to be true. Like “double your data and get the new phone, and it will be 43$ less” or whatever. I ask a million questions and inevitably the bill comes in and it’s $79 bucks more or something like that. Then they always tell you about how the bill will fluctuate for 3 months and then be what you were told, but never is.
