Why do they not farm more in areas with more rain? Like la, ms, al? I am sure there is a logical reason but the show didn't mention it

Because they are in California.

I very well may be wrong. Typically, what i've seen is that people who say "California Sucks" have never been there.

You may have been there and may think it sucks for a lot of different reasons, but i've heard a lot of dumbasses (members of my own family) say "Calerferna sux cuz all dem Librals", and none of them have been there.

Too many people, period.

That's becoming a problem around the world. Any couple with more than 2 children are contributing to the problem.

And?

If I lived in Baton Rouge I probably wouldn't be talking about how much California sucks.

Help yourself though.

Speaking as someone that lives there it's pretty amazing that we rarely have to conserve water in a place where it seemingly never rains. Southeast cities like Atalanta have worse water problems than we do. At least their rationing is more onerous. California's system of getting water to its residents is probably more impressive than any public works that you have in your state. We just do so much shite right it's not even funny.

Oh ad here's something crazy about the water shortage. We actually pay more for water when we use less. How's that for discouraging conservation? All the LADWP employees still need t get paid and those pensions need covering so the unit price that we pay for water goes down as we use more. I think that there's even a penalty if you use less than normal so that they can still bring in the same income.

I'm tired of this being considered a crisis like it's the first time in human history a desert-like environment lacked moisture.

Too many people live in an area that's not sustainable.

I'll bet the majority of them are the ones who preach sustainability.

Yeh I have been there. I really enjoyed the weather but I enjoy the gulf beaches over California beaches with water that isn't too cold to swim in.

The arrogance of people from California is what makes it suck the most to me.

California is a spectacular place... just incredible. But that is the biggest reason it sucks... The people that run that state are batshit crazy.

Not considering most of it runs off into the ocean.

You call getting water from neighboring states impressive...most rational people think people should live where water is readily available than to depend on other states for it. Same goes for power. I believe California has to buy power from Nevada as well.

Oh there is plenty of water.

The problem is they are WASTING BILLIONS of gallons on ...
wait for it....

wait just a bit more....

SIX MOTHERfrickING FISH. I shite you not. They are wasting billions of gallons trying to save an endangered species called the Delta Smelt. The delta smelt has ZERO KNOWN ecological value.

This is a POLITICAL water shortage - not climate.

PS - They just realized the water reservoirs underneath California are about 10x bigger than they thought and could IMMEDIATELY solve all water issues......but RED TAPE BUREAUCRACY.

Let the California citizens take a bath once a week, while all the ECO friendly Hollywood frickers water their multi-acre lawns DAILY.

Morons, the lot of em.

TBH, nobody has a monopoly on craziness. CA has SJW nuts, we have Jesus fanatics who don't believe in evolution.

We aren't even close to having an issue with running out of water. 90% of our water use is non-human (i.e. agriculture) and 90% of the rest is discretionary (lawn watering, golf courses, etc).
