By loves it I mean he's clearly the best kid out there. Runs around 10x more than the other kids, mostly because he plays center mid, makes most of the assists, kicks all of the set plays, made the most remarkable shots of the tournament...he's clearly not sad out there.

This is such a laughable idea for a kid under 16. Son, I know you are only 9 but you aren't allowed to throw a ball outside of practice for the next month.

And this is why a very large number of tommy johns are on youth players under 18.

I enjoy the Monday post from Mom's of travel ball kids, "LOVED the BALLPARK watching (insert name) do what he LOVES. #ballparkmom #supportmykid #baseballlife"

Almost like they need to justify spending 12 hours every Saturday and Sunday at the ballpark every weekend for 9 months of the year.

My kid is getting close to that age. He’s 6 & in 2nd year of T-ball. He loves it, pays attention, and has really made some improvement on the fundamentals. Problem is I’ve taught him everything and from what I see, that’s gonna be how it goes in rec ball. I spend more time telling him shite like “remember how coach told u to keep your elbow up? Yeah, don’t do that” or “remember when coach made you stretch out your arms and bat to the ball & scoot back? Yeah don’t do that either” than i do teaching anything lol

You’re what’s wrong. If your kid isn’t being coached correctly, get your arse out there and coach. Don’t be one of those a-holes that coaches from the stands. At least the coach is out there doing it.

None.

Like anything in life, there has to be a balance. Too much of anything can be a bad thing, even if it's something you enjoy. The body requires rest, and a kid needs to be a kid.

Keeping up with the Jones' is the primary reason for overexposure of kids in sports.

Is there not enough kids in Dallas or Houston to get a game/league together????

Yes but by 12U the rec leagues are splintered down to where you have to share games with other rec leagues. So you’re basically traveling. The travel teams dilute the rec leagues to where there isn’t any decent pitching. If you don’t have decent pitching, nothing is worse than sitting through a game of walks and 5 run ruled scored on wild pitch or passed balls.

2 of the last 3 weekends in Foley/Daphne Al...no one would say they love that. It is what it is though. I'll drive him to practice Mon, Tues, Wed, Thurs nights and we have local games this weekend which ends the season. He'll practice with the U13 boys and play up with them for the State games at the beginning of June...then that ends the season...

My promising baseball career was cut short when my pitching arm began hurting from overuse in kindergarten. I tried to make a comeback in second grade, but realized I didn't have it anymore.

If my kid did this I'd whoop the shite out of him. Can't have him jeopardizing his career acting stupid. Poor form? He learned from the best, his ol man

He is. Has a training session with a MS ODP coach tonight. IDK though, it's in Jackson and I'm not sure what that'll get him. It was s goal and he can make the team...I just don't know.

Tryouts were mandatory for us last year, we didn't go, and a kid who doesn't start for us made ODP...kind of knocked the luster off. Coaches son, who is a baller, on the u13 team plays, so maybe though.

Do you go watch his practices? Do you make every game? If so, you have enough free time so sign your lazy arse up to coach next year or stfu. Every coach makes mistakes, but there's nothing worse than the parent that purpoosely unteaches everything the kid learned at practice. You're gonna create an uncoachable player and poor teammate.

1. People LOVE, CRAVE the feeling of exclusivity that it gives them. Its not their fault and it doesn't make them terrible people, its human nature.

2. Puberty is the great equalizer.
